Donald Trump

Whether it's impeachable or not is irrelevant while there are so many Republican senators scared stiff of him and his rabid supporters.
I (and many others) have already made that point ad nauseam, mate — see previous posts.

I was responding to Karen about the fact that Trump *should* be impeached and removed on the basis of his USPS actions to subvert the election *alone*, much less the other 500 impeachable offences he has committed.

We all know it’s not going to happen.

Because they’ll all vote Democrat if they dare say a word?

We’ve got a fucking QAnon dingbat running now, too!

Country’s going to the fucking dogs, which is saying something, because it’s already crumbling from the outside in, while decaying from the inside out!

Trump and his racist cult have to be defeated in such a spectacularly obvious and humiliating manner that it stops any notion of a rekindling of this type of leadership.

What is scary, though, is that latest NATIONAL POLLS (often disregarded because it’s a STATE BY STATE election) have Trump at 42%!

Think about just how mental that is, and you get a sense of just how fucked we are right now!!

I read, the other day, it was 45%.

So, I guess with margin of error we can average it out at 43%.

Understand that 50% of White voters put him in last time(including 25% of former Clinton voters) and with this BLM/ Defund thing going on, that number could go higher.

It's an interesting time in US politics.

Hey america, the world is laughing at you

A Twitter fight has broken out between Donald Trump's campaign adviser and the fictional character Marge Simpson.

The war of words kicked off when Jenna Ellis, an adviser and lawyer to the US president, tweeted that newly-appointed Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris sounded like the cartoon housewife.

Now he quotes a crazy lawyer who reckons Harris may not be eligible for VP because her parents were both immigrants. That's stupid, but he then (deliberately or through idiocy) claims it's because she wasn't born here.

He's mad, bad and dangerous to know. And can't even write poetry.

Why is the attorney General not ruling this illegal,i am aghast that trump is allowed to do this,is there a sound reason that this will hurt the dems and not him?
You mean Bill ‘Chamberlain Was Right’ Barr?

And, yes — Dems are far more likely to want to avoid in-person voting during a pandemic that will likely be intensifying further come November, so restricting, disrupting, and delegitimising mail-in voting will further suppress opposition voting (I say further, as this is only one of a 25 point plan to supress voting, itself only one plan of a more broad strategy to subvert the election). Starting all of this now significantly disrupts mail-in vote casting as because of many state election laws requiring receipt of ballot by Election Day (or very shortly after) for the vote to be valid, many voters have to receive, complete, and mail their ballot by October. Undermining the USPS, which is currently the only certified election mail carrier (this is a legal certification meant to protect the legitimacy of the election), now is disrupting the entire process.

This is especially devastating in tandem with local efforts to reduce in-person polling places and voting hours in non-white, heavily Dem districts.

There are ways in many districts to get around the barriers being put up, but many people, most Dem voters, don’t have the time or resources to avail themselves of those ways, and the Trump camp and the Republicans at the state and local level know that. And they are trying to restrict or abolish those ways, too.

I forgot it is was Barr, answers that question
I am still not sure why the dems are adverse to getting their arses to a polling station, surely they will do it ,they shouldn't take this lying down ,it is their duty to make whatever effort it takes to vote

Because not many Dems are daft enough to think the virus is a hoax.

Several states vote only by post.

Made some quick edits to my post as I realised you might ask the above before you responded, so take a look.

There are movements to still get great numbers to polling places on the day where that is possible but Republicans have and are attacking that voting method, as well.

Not to mention that doing so will greatly increase chances of those people contracting/transmitting COVID, at a time when the US will likely be seeing another peak, so many will not want to take that chance.

Thanks, very informative and depressing,i can see him winning now

So the ones that only vote by post, can they take legal action or can the governor's or rich people fund a way of voting?
Any new channel for voting has to go through a strict (for good reason, ignoring the fact that it is now largely controlled by Republicans) assessment and certification process.

You can’t just shift to private election system a little more than two months from an election. Even in the best of times, with someone like Obama in charge, that would be dodgy.
