Lyon CL QF Post-Match Thread

Flat track bullies sums us up. For me we are in a whole load of shite and I think Guardiola is so dominant that he's stifling to the players own thought processes. There comes a time for all managers when a change is needed and I'm beginning to feel this has ran its course.
He never lasts so long at one club. This season has been a disaster. Pathetic league display and to lose tonight against Lyon is unforgivable. The pep era has been amazing at times. The best I've ever seen. But this season just shows that all things come to an end. Naglesmann or Poch in the summer for me

He is not totally the answer. He can be just as shaky as the rest of our defenders
Don’t worry the questions will be all about him choosing to extend rather than us deciding if his performance merit one. This is the problem

We have been pissing around all season.

fern should never play at the back put him in midfield. However his time is now up.

put walker central if need be & if he doesn’t trust stones.

play foden / Bernie instead of gundy he’s too slow with Rodri. I’m 50/50 on Rodri too.

put raz central & Jesus out wide.

I’m sorry I’m no manager but what I have seen this season the above is obvious & was before Xmas to me.

awful season & pep holds a lot of the responsibility

Fucking embarrassing the lot of them, how did he miss from 5 fucking yards oh my word thats poor

Flat footed in midfield to fucking slow at the back & Dino & Rodri was a big mistake

Manager blew it big time but our defending & misses were once again the winner

What an awfull season the League Cup & we nearly blew that fucker as well at the end

Now for a week of total utter bollocks from everyone

Laporte & Edderson were wank, feel for Sterling right now that miss was Sunday League stuff

I think it safe to say we will never win the Champions League under Pep.

His record is fucking abysmal.

We looked scared of them from the start. No belief.

Mixed feelings about going out tbh

I think Lyon have saved us from a good fucking hiding by bayern.

Why does this side Bottle it so much in Europe.Every season is the same. Calamitous school boy defending.

He managed to overthink a game vs Lyon. That says all you need to know about him. We set up to defend against Lyon rather than play our usual way and managed to capitulate. Absolute car crash from Pep. Try it against Bayern, but fucking Lyon? We played far better in the last 30 mins. VAR did it’s job then Raheem decided to press the Sepukku button.

Well pep has always said a manager shouldn't stay at a club for too long...maybe he'll take the decision out of the sheikhs hands.

Bet the bent twats in uefa’s eyes lit up when they saw that second goal go to VAR and they were straight on whatsapp to tell him what to do

We knew it would come at some point. The refs performance in the first leg at Madrid conned a lot of us

Thats what happens when you sacrifice midfield mobility for defence. Slow as fuck in H1, then too slow to make changes in H2 and then not enough. In contrast Lyon changes were great.

I do think we played as though this was a two legged game and that was highlighted by lack of subs used.

Going against the grain here so tin hat on.

I didn't like the line up either btw but..

xG on that game was 3-1 to City and we would have all been happy with that score. Appalling misses and gifted goals are not Pep's fault.

Not saying he couldn't have picked a team that won 5-0 but this, on the face of it, Is the players.
