The one person we always seem to leave out in these discussions is Sheikh Mansour what does he want ? I always reckon he wants a statement signing at some point could it be Messi ? The sponsor element and the ability to marketing him is a big factor here , probably bigger than the actual football side of any deal, ask the average person to name a world name in football chances are they say Messi ,then follow it up with who does he play for ? the association of his name linked to ours for a couple of years is huge especially when he retires in a City shirt, everyone will remember images of sky blue, the Etihad, and of course Manchester City .

Messi has been linked/associate with Qatar for a while now through their barca links. Adverts etc.
So would not be a surprise if they wanted him to “switch”.

The combination of him & Rosell, absolutely. And to be fair, a vocal minority of cules (Including myself) have been banging on about this even while Laporta was still President. Rosell was taking shots at the club/board in the lead up to the election and him & Bartomeu proceeded to dismantle everything Laporta did from the moment he was in office. Started with stripping Cruyff of an honorary club title and then insidiously degraded every aspect of La Masia while pushing Pep out and anything associated with the old regime.

I said this many times but you couldn't have managed to destroy the club more efficiently if blancos were put in charge

Ultimately the biggest issue is that they are corporate clowns, they know nothing about sporting matters much less running a football club. They are only focused on Espai Barca and getting their hands into a huge stream of cash that will be coming through. I think the anger needs to be directed at the old/conservative base of socis who allowed this to happen much less continue but it helps to have had Group Godó (Vanguardia, RAC1, MD) & support you through media support & propaganda. Hiring I3 (Barcagate) to attack your critics doesn't hurt either via social media. All the lawsuits, Qatar, dishonorable transfers, the FIFA ban and yet somehow managed to pull of an unimaginable treble in the middle there due to MSN which really flourished for only 1 season in the end

It's been a nightmare, the only solace has been enjoying Messi as much as possible but even that has become untenable considering the utter lack of sports planning
