No it wouldn't if it did we wouldn't do it.Will be over the moon if Messi comes, but 1M+ a week in wages and another 100M+ transfer fee means we may not have enough funds for CB and LB.

Looks like Koeman is going to be announced as manager tomorrow and Bartomeu is staying.
@FCBarca under these conditions I assume there’s not much chance Messi stays?
Could you give us some figures, please?
I would say none but I am not certain Koeman will take over yet, there is conflicting info. There will be a press release from the club late today (The board meeting has gone on longer) to announce election timetable and next steps. Not sure that anything regarding the coach will go beyond confirmation of Setien's sacking
The way I see it, even if we were to say he's fading, his level has been so far ahead of every other player on the planet he will still comfortably be the best around for another 2 years at least.Retro is all the rage. We’ve been going backwards this year so why not spaff the next 2 years’ budget on a fading superstar?
On a purely footballing point of view, I wouldn’t disagree hugely...as long as he remains fit and injury free. The way I see it, even if we were to say he's fading, his level has been so far ahead of every other player on the planet he will still comfortably be the best around for another 2 years at least.
The only reason we don't make this signing is if the figures don't add up and we can't make it work financially.
On a purely footballing point of view we would be all over it.
If Messi had been playing on Saturday there's no way Lyon's second goal would have stood.Signing Messi won't make any difference to the shit decisions we get
Didn't Xavi, Iniesta, Valdés and Guardiola all do exactly that? Not happening imo. No one is paying that release clause and its hard to see Barcelona selling him for a sensible amount of money. If it is going to happen it will be next year when his contract runs out and he can leave on a free. Even then it is highly unlikely, can't see a 33/34 year old wanting to move to another club when he has spent his entire career at Barca.
So you're saying we may still get Isco :)Messi will sign a new contract and see his playing days out in barca more chance of getting isco!!!!!

Ah yes, but they had the allure of a random Saudi team, a random Japanese team, the rags reserves and the mighty Brescia to tempt them, instead of one of the best teams on the planet and his mentor in chargeDidn't Xavi, Iniesta, Valdés and Guardiola all do exactly that?
he's not the best player in the world now and certainly he will not be so over the next 2 years. The way I see it, even if we were to say he's fading, his level has been so far ahead of every other player on the planet he will still comfortably be the best around for another 2 years at least.
