well he would hinder fodens development and torres. We also dont actually need him, attacking creativity is not our problem. Its finishing, and defense. We need a new striker more than we need messi so better to spend on a good one
Fair enough thats your opinion. But we have a huge issue converting chances like you've said. If Messi was in the City front 3 we would score 120 prem goals minimum I reckon.

They would probably go for one of the young managers we have seen in the European games I recon.

But as I said, I am fully behind Pep trying to sort it.

I think (hope) he will increase the athleticism of the team & we will be one of the quickest. I don't think he'll bother with Messi & Garcia will either fuck off, or be 5th choice.

all for garcia leaving

Messi is no slouch despite his age - his ability in tight spaces is second to none still which is smething Pep absolutely desired. His dribbling at pace is also something that few can beat

I do think Pep would go for him IF we could get him but whether its a possibility or IF messi wants to come is the major doubt - but if he did im certain Pep/the club WOULD want him.

I agree we need a bit more athleticism -Torres adds this as does Ake. We dont (and wont get it) in the CDM position - Rodri and Gundogan will be continued to be used there. Aouar would add this but he is a number 8

All this speculation re Messi, could someone explain to me how we could possibly afford him and stay within the parameters of FFP.

The amount of money we'll be able to make if we sign Messi will eclipse a £100m transfer fee many times over. It's a no brainer.

Yep but apparently its written his current contract but obviously it can be negotiated.
100m you could see it maybe worth the chance but even half his buy out clause at his age is ridiculous.
You could spend that money better elsewhere I’m sure.
Spending that kind of money you would expect to build a core of a team you’ll have for at least 5 years, not one player for maybe two seasons.
I know he’d generate money for the club but I really do think there would be limit beyond which the club would consider the risk/reward odds too much.

The pros for me seem to be all financial potential. They are definite benefits.
The team improvements are not definites. You can argue that it is highly likely, but it is not definite.

The risk to the equilibrium of the team and the club structure in general is a probability also. I wouldn’t argue that it is definite but it’s a risk.

So how much money would any club risk on him. That the question. And some clubs can afford more than others of course.

Personally I would love to be proven wrong by him, but currently see the game he is playing as just that. A game. I see him staying at Barca despite the rumours of his unrest.

Inter could with their new owner (as well as us to be honest) but I don't think he will go for 700m and itwould be a hell of a slog for anyone who wants to sign him. I agree he will end up staying but I don't see Barcelona's president leaving anytime soon.

was just reacting to the twit links that sent messi either in city inter or psg. And sayin it was impossible in paris this year, since we have a limited budget for transfer, l1 stoped and a third of the season paiment is missing, so its tight. And it s common knowledge he dimaria and ney are best pals.
What? Are you that Geordie bloke from Alan Partridge?

Info taken from the mirror so I am not sure on the context. Based on these quotes he is not going anywhere and pep is pushing for him to remain at barca. Pep has repeated time and time again in press conference that messi should not leave. You have to remember it is his club(pep) and even though he coaches city he wants the best for Barca.

Ronald Koeman has insisted Lionel Messi "has to finish his career" at Barcelona after discussing the forward with close friend Pep

“Messi is a pure winner," Koeman told Dutch media outlet NOS. "I am very close with Pep Guardiola and I am still in contact with him now.

Pep told me that Messi wants to win, he wants to win everything. And if he doesn’t win, he can get very annoyed. I am looking so much forward to work with him.

“I have to make sure that Messi will be able to function well in this team, and that he feels important. He is the captain of this club!

"He has to finish his career here. Messi is Barcelona and Barcelona is Messi."

I think if he goes anywhere it’s inter
Why would he go to inter? Iv read this a few times. Coming to the end of his career I would imagine he would go somewhere where he could win trophies. I don’t see inter being that place
