One brother I completely ignore and block on social media. He's been racist forever and isn't smart at all but thinks that he's informed because he watches Fox News.

I have to help my dad a lot because he's had eye surgery recently so I try not to talk about it with him. As for my other brother he doesn't talk about politics so it doesn't come up but we don't see each other often.

Cheers for the earnest answer, mate.

I am very sorry you have to struggle through all of that, especially knowing there is little-to-nothing you can do to change their minds (and basic perceptions of reality).

Hope you have a more rational, supportive, and realistic community you can lean on away from them.

Aside from we humble few in this thread, of course. :-)

The 'Q' phenomenon is really quite interesting. Its growth through social media has been exponential, and is starting to gain traction in mainstream politics through Trump and other GOP social media influencers.

It's amazing how it all started as a series of messages posted by a single user on 4chan.

Indeed.

Not to mention it’s spread to our own politics at home; that twitter thread I shared is an unfortunate recent example (there was a demonstration in Manchester, as well).

If you haven’t yet, be sure to read The Atlantic’s long-form article about QAnon — they really do a very good job of explaining the chronology of it’s rise, analysing it’s current state, and extrapolating the future implications, including direct interviews with QAnon disciples.

They also had another write-up that effectively predicted that the US and UK will soon have QAnon disciples in government.
