I was going to say this , Messi must be one of the richest sportsmen that has ever lived, last year he was earning over 1 million GBP a week!
If he wants to leave Barca so much for a new challenge, will the wages be such a big issue?
I don't expect him to play for free, but at this time in his career, to be happy and enjoy playing the beautiful game has got to be his No 1 priority.
Never underestimate the greed of the modern player

Very true, and if he does become greedy , we have to walk away, Messi or not.

Every transfer has risks, especially one for a 33 yr old, and one who is leaving the club he loves because he is pissed with the president.

If he genuinely wants to come to us, to enjoy the final years of his career, playing for a manager who got the very best out of him, great.

If he is coming for one last big pay day, thanks, but no thanks.

Am I the only one who is less interested in the Messi story than other transfers and pro contracts for our best Academy players?

In that case, can we just have the dedicated Messi thread and keep talk of him on there, not here?
If you've something to say about those other transfers, just say it. And if others are interested in talking about it, then I'm sure they would chime in too.

I'm happy to listen. I'm only ITK about....actually, nothing.

L'Equipe (bad source) confirming what i was saying about PSG financial situation :
The possibility of seeing Lionel Messi arriving at #PSG is "impossible" according to Parisian decision-makers.

Even if he arrived free, his salary would make it very difficult to come up with the financial equation.

Two options for Messi at #PSG. A sale of Neymar or Mbappé. Not very relevant when the tendency is the will of extending them.

The second, forcing the door of the FFP, a risky thing. To do so is a risk of "putting the entire football planet on your back", was said internally.

Win win for city
If he stays we keep jesus
If he goes psg city could get mbappe or neymar
Were in the driving seat

I’d say so pal yeah
It appears that way. He's probably the greatest ever and remains a wonderful, wonderful player but this will be a circus from start to finish and not my bag. Come quickly, quietly and play your ass off, setting an example to all the young players at the club.
