If his lawyers where any good at theirs jobs the clause is written in a way that he has to announce his intentions within a set number of days of the season ending, not at a specific date.
Barca board seems like they are trying the tactic of he has always announced his intentions to us in June so that's when the clause expires.
FIFA/UEFA has moved the season ending so Messi is probably in the right, and if that leaked fax from yesterday is real he announced it to them the 20th so within one week of the season ending.

Yeah I agree. Although that leaves an issue at left back, although Aké could be makeshift but we'd be heavily reliant on Mendy if Zinchenko goes. Don't think Garcia is taking up a foreign spot anyway and Otamendi leaving probably leaves space for Koulibaly or whoever to come in.

Zinchenko hardly played this season so we would have Mendy and Cancello and Ake for the let back

Yeah I think so too, Cancelo was actually decent at left back, looked a lot more comfortable post COVID in the side.

Think Leipzig higher ups or something was quoted saying they're closing in on Angeliño, honestly I'd try and keep him as a backup, he's not a bad player and especially with this situation he counts as home grown and would be added advantage
