The technicality of the date is neither here nor there, not honouring the clause they were daft enough to agree to include is highly cynical, insulting to their greatest player, and embarrassing.

For that alone, they deserve zero fee for him (goes for any buying club, not just us).

And for the fact they were brash enough to offer 10m€ for garcia, a third of the price our club had named, they have shown alack of professionalism and class, so don't deserve us trying to bypass the clause with a palatable offer.

Now if it turns out the clause is invalid, Then we can offer, and relative to his age, time left on contract and obvious desire to leave, they really have nothing to stand on. 50m plus garcia or angelino is more than fair. After the clause has been determined not valid.

Seems the people from Messi camp are confident they can go through with this clause. .. The clause would have been written with the end of the season (usually in june)being a major reason. However with covid it seems quite logical to postpone it to a actual transfer window...

How can an end of season get out clause expire before the end of an extended season if an end of season expiring contract cannot expire before the end of the such a season?

yeah I think Barça have a problem with that clause to be honest! So was Leo out of contract when he played in the champions league? A top lawyer will argue the whole Covid issue and the later end of the season Pushes the clause back imo

Sure i read somwhere he has to activate it by June 10th.
Then it said,due to the season being extended,he now gets till 31st August to activate.
All above board in my eyes,if i read correctly and its true.
