George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

Imagine if it was black “militia style” groups going around and doing this in dozen of cities ever night.

From what I understand there is a reason why you will never see this in a colour photograph, apart from the Police would shoot them without a second thought...The state where this picture was taken apparently changed their open carry laws after this protest

Wasn’t even arrested where the shooting took place despite running over to two dozen cops.

Weird how it’s always “better judged by 12 than carried by 6” when shooting an unarmed black guy but “we appreciate what you’re doing” when facing a group of white proud boys clutching their AR15’s.

Things change. Policies can change. Society can and should adapt for its betterment.

Absolutely agree but my point is, parties will do and say whatever it takes to gain power.

Take guns, neither the republicans nor democrats will ever get rid because its political suicide. Guns everywhere equals a heavily armed law enforcement, the 2 go hand in hand.

Its fucked up.

It’s certainly fucked up mate. That killer from last night is 17 years old and is somehow legally able to own an assault rifle and drove from out of State to Kenosha after joining a Facebook group called Kenosha Guard that asked for armed volunteers.

And we wonder how jihadis are radicalised online? At least we don’t literally allow them to go to ASDA and buy weaponry. I wouldn’t live in the USA if you paid me double what I’m on now. Basket place.

Basket place indeed and apologies to our American members who also feel the exact same.

A suspect reaches into his car, what would you do?

Is the answer...shoot him in the back seven times? I mean is that what you think should be the reaction every time a suspect reaches into his car, his pocket, his holdall? Or if he twitches, moves his hand, belches?

Do we take into account suspect disorientation, like when you just tasered him, or what if he has family in the car, do we still blaze away and hope we don’t hit them?

It‘s like there is no middle ground here, and there must be middle ground because the police aren‘t gunning down people every day are they, so maybe we should be analysing what goes right vs whats goes wrong, the situations, the cops involved, psychological profiles of the cops, recruitment, training etc. The alternative is bitching on a football forum asking what I would do or finding endless justifications for shooting someone in the back. Seven times.

There was a warrant out for his arrest for sexual misconduct with a minor. What role that played in this in interaction, I don't know. But what is undeniable, is that he had absolutely no intentions of complying.

He was tackled, tased, and had guns pulled on him. But non of that stopped him.

I have noticed a lot of people like you are showing severe disinterest in the relevant questions.

But even if you don't know the above. Even if he was a monk, when a guy with guns drawn on him decides, "nah I just need to get to my car and ignore these idiots"*** Again, I ask you the same question you like to avoid like the plaque, what should they have done?

Firstly, I don't avoid 'the plaque', one should brush daily and not avoid such poor health conditions.

Secondly, I thought my "relevant question" was 'how did it get to this point?'.

Did you miss it...?

I pick people, not sides, which I why I've been right about Trump from the beginning, and am usually right about who will and will not be effective at political leadership, regardless of the party.
Takes a special type of genius to realise Trump wouldn’t work out as President.

Have you got the lottery numbers?

Lol, go on mate face it, AOC has pissed on your chips with her statements hasn't she? Kinda upset the applecart and all that, she wants them defunded, no ambiguity, just defunded., which is a bit of a squirm fest for those suggesting nobody really means it, as this prominent politician clearly does.
Then when you get City Mayors, also making similar pledges, it gets a little difficult trying to say it was all about discussing budgets.

"Discussing budgets"??

It just goes to show how you don't think for yourself. At this point in time there are 13 cities involved in defunding or about to defund the police.

So, I won't ask you again, what you THINK it means, as it's entirely pointless to get you to enunciate any clear critical thinking on the subject.

Well done.

I will readily admit to not knowing 99% of the names bandied about on this thread but i do recognise a nation that is a tinderbox at present politically but far worse, one in which everyone can walk around with an assault rifle if they so wish which married to an anger and hatred of anyone who they don't agree with, spells disaster.

Hyperbole? You would say absolutely, especially when discussing a democracy like yours but right now? No.

I can honestly see real bloodshed at the elections and that is a fucking disgrace.

Sadly -- very sadly -- I wouldn't say hyperbole any more, although I do think a lot of gunowners are cowards and hypocrites ("I don't trust that you won't harm me so I carry a gun, but I require that you trust me that I won't use it to harm you"; "I'm a law-abiding American but if guns were made illegal tomorrow, I would commit crimes to ensure that I could keep my gun", etc.)

I doubt Donald Trump could raise an army of citizenry willing to die for him to keep him in office if they wouldn't come to his inauguration or attend his rallies. But I could see him trying, and that is a fucking disgrace.

It's patently obvious at whose feet the current state of the nation can be laid upon.

Win or lose, Trump is not leaving the Whitehouse unless its in cuffs, screaming and kicking.

He is about to go full on dictator imo.

Shite policing, could have just tackled him to the ground if you suspected he was going to his car to grab a weapon. Common sense policing doesn't exist in America just executions the fucking pigs.
They did that initially and he got away from them. They then chased around the car with guns drawn one officer was try to grab him when he opened the door and reached.

Unless you are unreasonably suggesting the cops should have predicted what he was going to do when he got away from them trying to restrain him, then pre-empted his thoughts and then jump over the car's bonnet, (yes?) and wrestle him to the ground.

You know to guarantee, their survival and you know, his...

I mean, is that the expectation for cops now?

I am off the same opinion, no need to shoot him seven times, no middle y ground totally agreed and said y it earlier.

But in THAT situation what would you have done?

I see we have headed off into the realm of it being about MY beliefs, with your last sentence basically confirming your lack of interest in the issue.

I think I’ll leave whatever context I was trying to provide to stand on its own.

I have no interest in litigating this incident on Bluemoon with my opinions vs yours.

Have yourself a safe day.

But, you DO have an opinion and justified the actions citing "non-compliance", so you must think that it was "a good shoot".

Don't ask us to look through the eyes of a cop, using your own experiences, if you don't want to answer a question that asks you what you would have done in your experience.

Have yourself a great day/ night.
