make it look like its all messi and the fans will buy into that ? but if its the club that has to sell or get rid of the high wages and a cull is needed

I think there is something in what you say.

If they can get 50m fee, players and a reported 1m a week off the wages, that's some serious cash saved!

If Barca or Messi insisted it went to CAS then maybe years.

But if FIFA did it, I think it would be much quicker.

I imagine they'll just work out a compromise though, as Barca are surely not going to get 100s of millions for a 33 year old with one year on his contract, even Messi.
