Are? We've been a complete joke since they took over.

Bad transfers after bad transfers. Dodgy deals. Mountains of debt.

Bartomeu and the board should face criminal charges after all of this is over.

For me as an outsider it looks like they only care about making money and commercials, rather than actual respect for the players and fans. I felt that with the last few signings and now to treat Messi like their dog, it’s bang out of order really.

I Just want some clarity & I may of missed something but at what point has messi or his team said he wants to play for city ? At what point have city officially said we want him ?

it seems the logical move for him but are we going off media reports only at this stage ?
We always want him,for now this is best that we say nothing ,it is between messi and barca at this point,if we get involved the shit will really hit the fan

We feel your pain, we had decades of it under the stewardship of a certain Peter Swales. At least you have won some trophies along the way.

I'm sorry its ended this way for you guys and messi, it's a travesty really

I think about the greats at the club and their exits, perhaps it is not a surprise considering the contentious nature of politics & money. Some saw it coming from day one, I figured they would push him out eventually but I did not envision it like this

Of course, I also did not envision Bartomeu running the club (into the ground) this poorly much less socis doing little to nothing about removing him. As I say, sometimes you get what you deserve rather than what you need. Bartomeu is the devil but club members, they let this happen and so they share culpability IMHO. Many of us have complained & campaigned to do something but it all too often fell on deaf ears or was drowned out by the propaganda machine of the board - this is not revelatory since we see similar tactics in US politics

I am (or I will be once this sideshow ends) thrilled to see Leo with a smile and playing under Pep again, presumably with a formidable supporting cast to enthrall us all

You thought the anti-City narratives & biases were insufferable before, just wait - the CR debates are only the tip. But it will be wonderful to watch

How long before we get to the stage of barca fans protesting outside offices to let Messi go, It must be time soon for Messi to talk

What will the majority of fans think about all this? Will they take the board/clubs side or will they think Messi should be able to leave on his terms?

Great post.
Pity your board don’t share your morals.
Hopefully we can get this over the line and football will be the better for it.
Will be happy to welcome you and any Barca fans with your ethics at the Etihad once this nonsense is over.

What about this? (Sorry if alt ready posted).

Bartomeu (September 2019): “Messi has a four year contract that we signed two years ago, and in the last year of his contract, the 2020/21 season, he has the option to leave Barça before the season starts.”
