Players who underperformed at City but were great elsewhere

Since one of your criteria is "underperformed at City" then I think you're being very harsh on Kolo Toure, Pearce (unless you mean as a manager!) and Vieira.

Were Pearce & Vieira as good as 5/10 years earlier in their prime? No, but they did what we asked them to do. Kolo was steady and a big part of our success. Also a very good car salesman on the side, I believe.
 
Some of those were just at the end of their careers which I think is a bit different to not doing it at City but doing it elsewhere.

Regardless, Vieira did ok for us when called upon and doesn’t deserve to be on this list.

Pearce also had a good season as captain on our way to promotion.
Pearce scored three times that season, not sure how that stacks up against his final season as a manager
 
He scored 24 goals for us, so he must have been brilliant, scoring while on his arse :)


Manchester City
