Kalidou Koulibaly

That's a bit of a backward view in my opinion. Surely if the young lads are good enough, they're good enough. At that stage it doesn't matter if it's Koulibaly, Upamecano or whoever in their way. You shouldn't make it easy for the young lads, they should earn their place on merit, just as Phil Foden has had to do. If they're not up for the fight (Sancho) or think they'll be better off elsewhere (Garcia) or just don't make it, at least you've still got someone in place for a long period of time until someone is good enough to take his place.
Not backward at all. The kids have to see a pathway to the 1st team is possible. Foden knew David was coming to the end, we didn't buy a 22/23 year old in just incase Phil wasn't ready. Koulibaly will be the same age as David is roughly when thb will be Phils age now. We are planning our squad to the strengths of our youth. Sancho left because he knew he was ready at such a young age (and he was right) but he's an anomaly. Nobody could guarantee he would develop that quickly hence the mahrez signing. Upamecano is a great prospect but we have our own, they're just not there yet. Another 3 years we will know better. I've always believed Harwood bellis was a better cb than garcia and still do. Not taking anything away from garcia hes so mature and composed for his age but he's also very easy to beat in a foot race and play over. Anyway, as always your entitled to your own opinion. I want say yours is backwards or condescend you in anyway. Take care kinda.

Either we’re not in for this guy at all, just feeding media some bullshit in our pursuit for another player, or this is one tough negotiation. I don’t know what to believe yet. For every day passing by, we lose time to complete the transfers of Otamendi, Stones, Angelino and Zinchenko. It’s getting harder everyday to complete every in’s and out’s. Txiki said this window would be tough and I feel we haven’t moved much since we got eliminated in the UCL.
Are you going to be like this all summer ?

By backwards, I meant the sequencing of your argument, it wasn't aimed at you on a personal level.

I'd rather we went for that Upamecano, a good young powerful player .... he's also french too, which would come in useful in forming an effective partnership with Laporte ..... that Koulibaly is old, slow, and just an expensively priced carthorse.

If you've seen Koulibaly play then he is absolutely not slow, and 29 isn't that old, he is a world class defender

I saw him a few times in league games on streams last season mate , and sorry, but I can't agree with you .. his club struggled, as did he, and they eventually finshed up 21 points behind the champions ..... and he was totally embarrassing against a Barcelona side that clearly is a million miles from being a great one.

Napoli are attempting to rip us off, that's the bottom line , he's nowhere near good enough to be worth what they're asking for him.

Post COVID restart his form wasn't great and this entire season he was unsettled, his partner was Manolas, who has been a terrible signing, and Gattuso isn't the manager to get the best out of him either, their entire system was forced to change, and he's not fit for it. He will do bits for us under Pep. Still need good players around you to make it work in the backline.

Another one that’s being played out on Twitter with hourly updates from mostly KFA’s.

In case you haven’t noticed mr. Kaz, it’s September.
But I’ll pipe down for a few... hours.
"The transfer window opened the day after the season finished, on Monday, July 27. It will run for 10 weeks and closes on Monday, Oct. 5 before the UEFA competition squad deadline the following day."

Lots of time..

Another big worry with him is the amount of fouls he gives away in dangerous positions ... something he's been critised for over in Italy.
