Eric Garcia to Barcelona

I'm sure the club will be fairly relaxed about this - a year is a long time in football and hopefully he can continue developing. I think some on here forget how inexperienced he is. He may find himself really enjoying life and if Barca struggle under Ronald McKoeman then who knows. Either way I can see him being a good back up when needed.

Quite right. The guy is 19, I repeat 19. Plenty of room for improvement. This guy is going to be a top, top player. Shame he wants to back home.

I’ve no strong feelings either way as to whether Garcia stays with us or goes to Barcelona but whatever is decided he shouldn’t be made to pay the price for us failing to get Messi.

We didnt fail to get Messi. FFS.

Show me your source that says we failed to get him. Show me a source that says we was interested in him.
One will do.

Don’t be such a pedant, you know what I mean and despite the club being very tight lipped only a fool would think there has been no effort to get him

Even if we were, totally interested, we 100% did not 'fail' to land him, we didn't really ever try.

Unless he signs a new contract so we can get a little fee for him, we shouldn’t let him be anywhere near the first team. Let him train with the U12s for a year

Well, I don’t agree but I can understand. He has an ‘old’ contract and he doesn’t make big money. I’ll give him new contract with good money and 50mil release clause. Tell him, if they do want you, they’ll pay it in one-two years.

Why? What has Garcia done to justify that treatment? It's like angry little man syndrome on here at times, grown men who can't handle rejection. We don't even know the reason why he doesn't want to sign a new contract, he's not criticised the club, he's not refused to play, he's not done anything wrong. Tolmie did mention that he had gone back on his word in regard to the contract which is a cunts trick but Pep's decision to play him against Lyon makes me think that couldn't possibly have been true.

Because our defense has been a mess, and we’ve just signed Ake, and Koulibaly might come. Looks like Stones will stay. Might even get a new LB or eventually Angelino. We’re gonna try to build a solid defense for years to come, and Garcia doesn’t even want to be here

What has Garcia done to justify being forced to train with the U12's? You've gone off a weird tangent.

I don't think Garcia was suitable for PL in terms of physicality. Bellis already seems much better physically.

Never mind the physicality he is too slow. Reading the game and being calm on the ball is great and with experience he cld be a top cb but he does not have the experience right now and he does not have the pace to recover from a bad decision. Time to go.

He is not really an EDS player and Pep clearly does not agree
Harwood-Bellis is a decent kid, lots of potential but nothing more at this stage.

I don't understand why some people think he is anywhere good enough to be in the squad of one of the best teams in world football.

He needs time to learn his trade and probably several loans in the Championship.

That makes absolutely no sense at all
Just read it again, and yeah that makes no sense. That’s what happens when you drink. What I actually meant is that we have to build a new solid defense, and since Garcia is going to leave us, we should rather give his minutes to someone like Stones, Tosin or THB, who might actually have a future here.

Neither him nor Garcia should be in the team at this stage. He is the better defender, Garcia the better passer.

Joke that one has had such favouritism because he came from Barca's academy rather than ours.

He has made it clear he wants to leave, it doesn't get more simple than that, offer for Messi and make him part of the deal, it's a now or never as far as both deals.
