God I hope not , he is more rash than nico , any out goings aside from Angel ?

There are no concrete deals for people leaving right now aside from Angelino. - Pep still needs to speak to a couple players to let them know where they stand - pretty sure that will ramp up once our own business is sorted.

Stones and Otamendi are in positions of strength on their existing contracts and it will take decent bids to persuade both them and us to let them go.

I'm also sorry to say, Pep has not signed a new contract extension. As Khaldoon recently stated, there is enough mutual respect on both sides to have an adult conversation when the timing is right.

KDB new deal is something the club want to wrap up ASAP.

As for Koulibaly, I can't quite decide if City are now actually pulling Napoli's pisser - I assumed City would get it done eventually but the club are adamant the price ain't right and everything is still through middle men.

the whole koulibaly thing is truly bizarre imo! Surely we know we need a top CB after last seasons shambles at times?

Whilst very helpful to get this info, it is quite disturbing to me. The season is almost upon us, we were inconsistent last season and the competition is strong.
It all seems a bit too last minute given we need to have a fast start before CL kicks in and bog game fixture congestion.
If we want Koulibaly he needs to be here now because as we have seen, it takes time to settle into Pep's system, never mind a new country.
How can we plan properly if we don't know whether Pep is staying or going?

could the seeming lack of transfer activity at present be due to City keeping a tight grip of the purse strings with a last minute (paid) move for Messi planned?

I can understand why Txiki would be negotiating every single £1 in the KK deal of this would be the case. Likewise I understand why it would be quiet on the midfield front.

Wonder when the club deem the time to be right on the manager front.

Slightly concerned we are sleepwalking into a situation on that front.

If he is to leave this summer, surely the continuity plans should be being put in place and movements made to get the next man in.

Of course City know their own requirements, bloody hell!

I'd rather sign a fit Stones to a new long-term deal than sign Koulibaly - and blow the fucking lot on a world-class defensive midfielder - Flanaghan's Law - Cocktails and Dreams.

It could have missed a lot of people by the other day, but Ake's comments last week were also interesting - Pep has asked him to prepare to be played in three positions this season - centre-back, left-back and holding midfield.

Skriniar seems to be available but like you said last night, i could see txiki doing the diego carlos release clause though.

I'd argue there is still a month of the window to come and we will get our business done.

The season is almost upon us but the last one finished less than three weeks ago for us - players go on holiday, a global pandemic alters the economic landscape for every club in the world, players who perceived they could move on are suddenly told they can't, other squad players want to retain the security of their well-paid contracts.

Torres was long in the planning and easy enough to do, as was Ake.

In answer to your Pep question, we plan regardless - it is what the big clubs do.

Can I stop hoping about Messi yet?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we full on foreign spots? Surely Otamendi has to be sacrificed even if it's a loan if Koulibaly comes in?

The Messi deal wasn't even the equation, it would obviously impact the bottom line on our wage bill, but the funds for it are completely independent from acquiring a top quality central defender.

Always brinkmanship going on.

Think a lot miss the point that the plan is the same more or less whether Pep is the manager or somebody else is.

So do you think Stones will come good ? And do you think we will sign a Midfielder ?

Do you think we would look for a long term Aguero replacement in this window, or has the chance of Messi put that on hold?

It’s amazing that some think this transfer business is easy and that a club that has won trophy after trophy are inept.

How many times has Khaldoon said we plan for the next 5 years ahead yet some think he’s working day by day.

Imagine how long fighting UEFA took too.

Franny Lee was never cut out for the job but one thing he said stuck with me “the problem with running a football club is that the results come out weekly rather than annually”
