Have we become expectant as a fanbase?

I did. Maybe I didn't put down my thoughts clearly. I meant Maine Road being toxic indicates it may not only be non attending fans here saying some of these things.
Ok, sorry, i think it was me that picked it up wrong.
I think all clubs have toxic fans & forums the world over are known for it, we're not alone

I'm just thankful for the last 10 years. Its been wonderful football to watch and we've seen some truly world class players. Some loyal and fanatical fans will never have this in their lifetime.

Ironic that we sing Wer’re Man City, we’ll fight to the end, given the prevailing mardy arsed attitude in here

Our fan base has been going since the 60’s 70’s we expect nothing and celebrate everything ..

Some of our younger fans have known nothing but success and it’s hard for them them to get to grips with not winning everything ...

We are one of the biggest clubs in the world now, unfortunately, self entitlement comes with the territory...

Edited for accuracy:)

Judging by the hysteria on Messi right now it's as though many feel like they've had their pants pulled down to have a smacked arse.

I try to stay grounded and not get worked up, not easy reading BM at the moment with all the dummy spitting that abounds.

I think some need to take a breather and a chill pill TBH. If he doesn't sign for us I'll be a bit disappointed, nowt more than that though.

I'm logging off here a few hours and not listening to TV or radio. Too much shite being spouted by know nowts IMO.
I’ve had a month off from posting on here but have read the odd thread, including the Messi thread. That thread compared to the general consensus in real life couldn’t be further apart if you tried. I don’t know a single City fan in real life who thought signing Messi was what City actually needed, but on here it was like absolutely everything for us as a club depended on it.

When it didn’t come off, not one City fan I know in real life was arsed. On here, it was like the world was ending!

In terms of your thread title which seems to be of a different topic than your OP... I become more and more expectant and critical of City the more I am charged to watch us. Year-on-year I feel less connected to the club, less connected to the players, and less valued as a supporter. And I seem to like footballers less and less n’all! So I just feel differently towards City and football in general all the time.

When I’m paying more, I expect more, and I’m more disappointed with every bit of average play or average performance we put in. It’s as simple as that!

And we are generally charged an increase WELL above the rate of inflation (some seasons we’ve had 13% price hikes!) which is unjustifiable!

I had noticed you'd gone as I like reading your posts. The Messi thread was a good example of how Bluemoon is not the views of many match going blues. It is THE main fans forum but plenty on here wouldn't have a scooby which way to walk to the 'Emptyhad' from Piccadilly gardens!
