It's Quiet thread 14 - 'do one' edition

Another week gone, season starts today and no transfer news or even hints of something happening
In part maybe due to lack of media coverage of Manchester City. We just do the deals and then they get reported but I thought we'd make a serious effort to plug our defence this Summer. When you think of some of the Premier League games (Norwich) the FA Cup, and the way Pep over-reacted to our defensive flaws by changing his tactics in the Champions League, I thought we'd see at least two defensive additions (particularly given that Garcia is half way out the door).

I reckon it's very likely this is pep's last season. That's why city don't want to spend big.
There is still time left in the transfer window though. Let's see

We will.Ake was one that covers Laporte and left back, we'll sign a centre back.

That is what I was assuming too but I'm getting impatient. Every transfer is a little risky but Koulibaly feels made to solve City's defensive problems. I just don't see why we risk so much to save £2-3m. Unless a player is like Sane or garcia and approaching the end of their contract, a club like City just has to bite the bullet and pay the fee.

It's a case of trying to move on a couple of fringe players which is proving difficult. I think we will still see at least 2 out 2 in before the window closes.
Might be something in that link to the Belgian forward. Would make sense. Aguero getting on. An injury to Jesus and we'd be struggling

might be a case of a few million on transfer fee but what we dont find out is what other cost costs involved agents fees, length of contract ect ect

by the sound of it Kev doesn’t think he’s coming

No
It sounds like he doesnt care it hasnt happened - not that he doesnt think it wont. A slightly subtle but important difference and an example of people looking for negatives to reassure themselves if the deal doesnt happen

Im sure Txiki et al would never let impatience cloud their commercial acumen.

The "just pay it" brigade would never be in their position.

Yes, we would all like our transfers completed as soon as possible in the window, but life isn't that simple sometimes.

Thw window is still open, so there is still plenty of time, albeit not ideal.

why all the rush people, if we signed all our targets on the first day of the window opening we wouldnt get to wade through all the shite whinging on the "its quiet thread" its part of football now, bovril, smoke on the spirals ,piss in the sink, people flapping like demented school girls who have just missed donny osmand
