I don't think they'll swat them aside, they'll win by one flukey goal. Unfortunately for us they win a lot without playing well. I always think their luck will run out, but I'm not so sure. We'll need 90 points this season to have a chance.

Hopefully chelsea turn up, slightly hopeful as the dippers defence looked shaky against leeds

i don't think it's the success of liverpool that makes you hated. it's the smugness, arrogance and denial of any wrongdoings by club and fans that cause the hatred. rather than condemn some of the actions by your fans it appears to be encouraged by the club.
I think you've summed it up nicely there.
I'm sure there are plenty of decent Pool fans out there (obviously I don't know the poster you're replying to personally but he seems ok), however there appears to be a significant number of vile individuals at all levels from Boardroom, Players, Staff, Media fanboys/shill and followers associated with them.
Every club has it's idiots however they seem to have a bigger proportion of idiots than anyone else which in turn feeds the dislike.

And it's not a personal thing against him either, there are some sound liverpool fans. but when i read hickory dickory condoning their behaviour by talking of everton fans having banners proclaiming houllier dying i despair. they get called out on occasion but the ex player/media pundit usually retracts it sharply possibly through fear of losing their job/meeting aldo in a dark alley in garston. it's this fear that stops most from speaking out about them so they get away with it time and time again.

Unless he got a discount on Rylan Clark first set. People seem intent when they get new implants or veneers to get a proper mouthful
Theres loads about but l can never think of them when l try. Most appear to be men. Perhaps its some sort of little cock big teeth thing.

Firminho. Remembered him without trying. There must be a dentist in Liverpool cornering the market. In Nantwich there's a firm of solicitors who specialise in dental negligence cases. Not too far for those living on the Wirral.

Agreed 100%
Since The Sun were (rightly) rounded on, the media have been shit scared of upsetting them since then and seem intent on blowing smoke up their arses to over compensate.
This in turn feeds a cult like mentality towards anyone or anything that doesn't follow the narrative that they are somehow superior in every way, shape or form to everyone and everything else.

Agree totally with this. I had big admiration for the great team in the 70s and 80s. I watched and cheered their European Cup wins like many genuine fans of football. I also have huge respect for the current team and what they have achieved in the last two seasons.
But I despise the culture of the club and the arrogance of many (not all) in their fanbase. They seem to have a high level of thugs in the local support. I lived and worked in Merseyside for seven years and there was a stark contrast with the Everton fans.
Liverpool also has a huge overseas support with a very poisonous influence on social media. A lot these fanboys are totally ignorant about the history and culture of English football. I really don't think there is anything special about Liverpool fans compared say to Sheffield Wednesday (or Blades for that matter) who have stuck with their club over a century of under-achievement. A lot of Liverpool fans have no respect for other clubs (not just City and Chelsea)

Dental negligence it most certainly is, there's enough in there to supply half the Kop.

Exactly..look at the journo who called their supporters and club out, about how they behave

He got sacked

The fact that Liverpool fans believe they are hated around the country because of a bit of success tells you everything you need to know about them.
No self awareness whatsoever in the spunkbubble they all inhabit.
It's. Not. The. Team. Its. The. Supporters. You. Insufferable. Set. Of. Cunts.

Right ...Tin hat on....

As I have posted previously I think Liverpool have alot to be proud of, but also alot to be ashamed of and so I do get the hostility from many on here. To some extent I admire it as it shows a passion for your own club, something that the game is built on and is sadly missing a little from the games we have seen since restart.

So it was Kent's comment that got me thinking about "hatred" and rivalries and whether they change. Growing up on the Wirral I tended to follow the results of all the local clubs, Chester, Tranmere, Liverpool and Everton, wanting them all to do well. Then after starting to go to matches with my dad who had a season ticket at Anfield I became more narrow in my support, but my dislike for your neighbours increased. I wouldnt say it got to the level of hatred. The dislike and the rivalry...and yes jealousy only grew during their succes and our fallow years. During that time there was the success of Arsenal , Chelsea and now City. I dont think I ever really disliked any of them or begrudged them their success. Maybe Chelsea a little with their less than exciting football...... Arsenal (maybe not as much with the 1-0 to the Arsenal phase) & City were/are a joy to watch and I dont think many can dislike or hold a grudge when you see good football played.

Yes the recent incidents (bus/hacking/letters) will shape and no doubt remain the memories of many, but I wonder if Liverpools win last season was a once in 30yr thing and we go back to being mediocre, whether the dislike/hatred will remain. Or will we go back to being that "unpleasant memory"?

Do those local or "tradional" rivalries/hatreds change with success or the rise of other clubs?

Just me pondering again.
Not many City fans developed a hatred for Leicester City in 2016.

It’s your **** of a club that’s the problem, not winning the league.
