A successful loan for Zinchenko could mean he becomes a £30-40m player by next season if he's given a spotlight at a big club (and in the Euros in the summer) playing in his actual role.

Would you prefer to sell him now for £15m, or wait a season and double it? I know what City would rather do.

It's likely bollocks anyway, but there is logic to loaning out a fringe player like Zinchenko - he's got 4 years left on his contract, so there's no fear of him running it down at this stage and him staying at City playing 1000 minutes in cup competitions isn't going to do anything for his value as a player.

We both agree on it most likely being bollocks. He's worth more than 15m now, he wont be worth anywhere near 40m next season. My point was more, send put a utility cover player on loan, that we are not looking to move on, and leave ourselves with a signing to make late on to replace him, while not getting the money for him to do so and still needting to free up his slot next year when his replacement has settled in. No use to us.

Ofcourse, I'm very spoilt and I'm lucky to be able to witness some of, if not the best football I've seen during my lifetime and for that everyone involved deserves to have a level of trust placed in them as Manchester City wouldn't be in the place they are without those at the top.

But - the prospect of a deal for Ruben Dias as opposed to KK or Kounde really does not impress me in the slightest - If the best we've done is chase CB all summer only to come out with Dias - Can't say I won't be incredibly disappointed.

Absolute 12/13 transfer window signing.

I know as much about Dias, as i do about Kounde.

Which is nowhere near enough to have an opinion or preference. I'll trust the club to get whomever they think is available for the right price and would fit in and improve us.

It does very much seem however we have a defined price ceiling. I could see us paying more for kounde than koulibaly given his age. Perhaps if we were able to get 5m more with our sales (or sales rather than loans) of angelino, ota etc, than that issue on players we try bring in would be less.

hi blues just an update since I last posted a few weeks ago , as you’ve seen delap has been promoted to the first team , pep is that impressed with him and the other 2 strikers that he won’t be after another striker ! We’ve finally walked away From the koulibaly transfer after loosing patience with napolis demands , however expect the deal for Kounde at Sevilla to happen very quickly next week . As per previous stones is staying , ota won’t be a city player by the end of next week and the club are confident they will sell Garcia to Barca . As previously mentioned posting in good faith and don’t want aload of abuse !
No disrespect mate but you haven’t said anything there that hasn’t already been posted or discussed on here over the last week or so.

This absolutely stinks of getting Mendes to sort us out a 3rd choice because we didn't want to pay what Sevilla or Napoli wanted.

And the fact it has come completely out of the blue with no prior links a week before the window closes fills me with dread.
Perhaps the issue here is the elephant in the room, Otamendi. We have to have him as part of the deal somehow and Benfica are the only ones to agree. Quotas etc ?

Exceptional passer can see raz and ferran drooling at how he can ping a ball, defending idk seems to dive in

Doesn't help the quota any if we replace him with another non home grown player, so doubt it is that.

This isn't the first time we have been linked with interest in dias. Maybe he isn't as 4th choice as people think. We don't know how far apart the kounde and koulibaly prices are.

I do think ota could be sold separately however, and a few clubs seem interested, so not sure we'd be bringing in a player we had no real interest in, just to move ota on as part of the deal.

I still expect it to be a push at sevilla mire than anything else. Twitter 'it is done' claims are flash in the pan echoes of one claim and get forgotten about as just quickly as they spring up.
