You do have to feel a bit for the right. With only the likes of The Mail, The Express, The Times, The Telegraph, The Sun, Mail on Sunday, and The Spectator to represent their views, they must often feel that they have no voice in British mainstream media.

False victim hood:

If he does go down the Bernard manning route of treating everyone equally I think he'll struggle for guests - just like Boris decided to give him a miss which was in hindsight a shrewed move. He's either got his head up his arse or his finger on the pulse launching this as a pay channel - he's competing with all the free shit on youtube
Cowardly now = shrewd.

There’s clearly a big gap for this type of thing

pretty much all TV news is left leaning

Channel 4, Sky News and BBC Newsnight etc are shocking how far they take it

Neil is the best interviewer about, will be interesting to see who else ends up on there, hope it’s not filled with pro
-tory nonsense

why do they all deserve contempt ?

Most are very decent people trying there best for their constituents.
I'll retract my statement.

Two thirds of them deserve contempt. There's a minority on there that do a great job for their constituency.

A minority of newspapers could be classed as left leaning but TV news?

Where to start with this.

I'd be interested to hear how it's right wing?

The news is the news yes? Are we now suggesting the BBC and Sky who run the 2 major 24 hour news channels are akin to Fox?

I don't see or hear it I really don't.

If some think it’s left leaning and some think it’s right leaning then I’d say the balance is about right. The extremists will never be satisfied but that’s why they are called extreme

I genuinely don’t think we need another news channel. Times Radio has just been launched, anyone know how that is doing?

Agree with this.

Scrap 24 hour news and let's go back to 30 minute bulletins at key times where they can actually report key news and not fill it with utter shite.

It is far from balanced and also the 2 main ones pander to sensationalism over real journalistoc integrity.

When Kay Burley and Andrew Marr are seen as two of our top television journalists you know the medium is failing.

And if johnson gets his appointments at ofcom and the beeb through expect nowt but state sanctions tripe coming out of news channels

Agree completely on the sensationalism but how is it far from balanced?

Burley rips all MP's and ministers apart. It's the basis of her new show. If you think it's right wing then I'm gobsmacked

Burley was more about being god awful than bias.

And of.course it is unbalanced, I am not claiming it i ls right wing, but it is pro capitalist.

The soft way people like richard green or branson are treared for being absolute cunts for example.

Plus the beeb are always scared of the government and tend to lean in favpur of their stance be it labour or tory.

We are a capitalist society so Pravda you will not get.

Burley is awful. Shouty, confrontational supposedly fact checking shite.

I literally now tune in for the main headlines at breakfast, lunch, dinner and then late evening. 10/15 mins and that is it.

Channels like this along with social media are killing our minds by filling them with utter rubbish and frankly scaring folk to fucking death.

The world and the UK is not as it is painted out to be by them.

I don't think the BBC give a shit either way! If they did they wouldn't scandalise the viewing and listening public shelling out the kind of money they do on the likes of Lineker and Ball!

I think this could actually help the BBC.

5 or 10 years ago, it would be unthinkable that there'd be such growing support for it to be privatised but it's abandoned its neutrality on a lot of issues and I think GB news, whether that is neutral or not, will hopefully anchor the BBC back towards neutrality.

Nope...

BBC
Our Editorial Guidelines sets out what is meant by 'due impartiality':

"Due impartiality usually involves more than a simple matter of ‘balance’ between opposing viewpoints. We must be inclusive, considering the broad perspective and ensuring that the existence of a range of views is appropriately reflected. It does not require absolute neutrality on every issue or detachment from fundamental democratic principles, such as the right to vote, freedom of expression and the rule of law."
