apart from KDB there is zero creativity , Foden cant find room , he needs to go wide or drop deeper to get involved standing on the toes of their centre halves isnt working, Sterling isnt a central striker , he needs space in front of him
Pep needs a plan B , becasue this isnt working and Leicester will score another , Delap is our only central option , so bring him on and sacrifice either Rodri or Dinho , we dont need two holding midfield players when the opposition are happy to put ten behind the ball , sort it out Pep.

I was trying to explain last week that it was the press (specifically from Gabby and Phil) protecting our defense and not the pair of DMs.

It's quite obvious today. Less intense press equals weaker defensive cover.

The double pivot isn’t protecting us because they’re not playing through us they’re playing over us, the double pivot should allow us to drop 10 yards and still provide the pressure we desire from playing such a high line but we’re not doing that so we’ve got 4 players in a small square and the ball is being played over them. I don’t believe Pep has chosen to play this way today he simply doesn’t have any other options with our injury crisis.

Vardy is constantly playing off Garcia. He has actually done well overall, but Walker takes the risk he does because he knows that Garcia isn’t getting to Vardy before the shot comes in.

The warning signs were there long before the goal. You need your centre-half pair to have pace if you play as high a line as we do against the likes of Vardy. This is why signing Dias is so baffling to me. He doesn’t do anything to address this very obvious defensive defect.
Also do you ever remember us having holding midfielders with pace? With any manager?
You can say that we’re playing to our weaknesses, but the way we play isn’t going to change under Pep. The lack of pace at CB is made worse by the two holding midfielders in front of them. Again, looks like we won’t be addressing that either...

You do realize the year we won with kompany his partner most games was otamendi? Those two have zero pace and our defense was solid as hell. Idk why everyone talks about pace. If you have a defender that can read the game good you don’t need pace.

They constantly monitor players fitness these days, if his had dropped off then he wouldn’t be playing. Even the greatest players have bad games.
