I can't find any quotes or clips of that, care to link them?

There was a lot of rumors but they were very lazy articles imo. It doesn't really matter much anyway as it didn't happen and I don't see why it would in the near future either.

This is clearly briefed to the media now regarding Alaba with jack and Paul hirst. So, they must have got some indication from Alaba's camp otherwise strange to put it out there....6 days before the window ends
 
Bayern have lost Thiago, just lost out to Barcelona on Dest, Sane is out for 4 weeks amongst other issues. I would be shocked if they sell Alaba this late in the window.
 
Well at least it’s given us this corker of a headline at least “City want Alaba to give competition to Mendy”

There would zero competition. Comparing Alaba to Mendy is like comparing Usain Bolt to me.
