Leicester City (H) Post Match Thread

It is one game.

It’s a new season.

we’ll be reet and if not, it’s not the end of the world is it.

fuckin meltdown on here is a pisser!
True mate, it won't be the end of the world, but will we be right or not?

I hope you're right but if you think Dias magically solves the state of our defending, you're dreaming. Additionally, we have zero pace in midfield, Mendy is a headless chicken and we've NO senior strikers fit! Apart from that we're fine...

Apart from the injuries and mendy we have a great team.

No. He is integral to Pep And still relatively young. I might sacrifice 10% of his ability with the ball at his feet with a 30% uplift in his shot saving/121 ability though;-).

if Pep leaves then that’s something else.
Thing is though teams sit so deep on us that having a ball playing goalkeeper like Ederson is now almost redundant. How often do we suck teams in any more and play through them with him involved. If teams don't press us high then his value is diminshed. Pinging balls to Sane or Sterling on the fly seems a thing of the past too.

I can’t disagree with that.

All you
Pep haters

Rodri haters

all you fuckin bandwagon media spunk bubbles, jumping on the back of a shite result like the club is destined for the uni-bond league

Do me a favour a fuck off to Twitter for a bit.

It’s one game

We lost 3 points

yes we were shit, but we go again and with a better squad.

fuckin bulbs the lot of you.

People are allowed to question the team & management.its more than one game finishing so far behind Liverpool last season, the Leon game where peps tactics didn’t help city.pep tinkers in big games.jamie Vardy said after the game there tactics were to sit back & they were to pinpoint Rodri as the weak link.they were his words.nobody hates Rodri but he isn’t quick enough in his position.this squad even with the new center half can’t compete with Liverpool.the squad has been in decline for two seasons.mendi not good enough since his serious injury
,he lacks any defensive nous & his confidence has gone.ederson isn’t a good shot stopper.he was brought in to hit long passes to the midfield or forwards but seeing as everyone sits in against us it doesn’t work.aguero injury is a serious one & he is in twilight of his career same as Laporte injury takes years to come back.this team now doesn’t press, players scared to death of serious injury due to peps playing style of pressing.this squad with a few days of transfer window will struggle for top 4 position.city need a striker a left back & a midfielder.pep said Fernandinho can no longer play every 3 days.like I said people are entitled to question the club regarding transfers & the way the squad has been allowed to dwindle over last 3 seasons.the Messi rumours didn’t help the club & have put us back in this window

I know what you mean but who else was fit to play there?
I can't believe he played him either. It's obvious he wants to leave and admitted the fact. Not bacause he wants to leave, I don't rate him. Maybe in time he should improve but the one thing he lacks is pace. You got it or you haven't, he hasn't! However, In this case injuries, lack of fitness, covid gave pep few options.

Worried that if Fernandinho isn’t playing we ship in goals like no tomorrow. Unsurprisingly they targeted Rodri as the weak link, 2 mins after Fernandinho subbed we’re losing then get stuffed.

I kept an eye on Kyle Walker after the pen. Just sauntered around for 10-15 mins, no pressing or anything.

I would question his stamina - not saying he is unfit, just the build of him would suggest he cant do the up and down running needed it that position.

He looks brilliant sprinting forward with the ball, but how often do you see City defending a counterattack and he is 10 yards off the pace.

Not sure where this might be found but a serious question . When did we last come back to win a match when we were down at half time?? . I can think of many when we were leading then lost but to me the lack of fighters since Zaba's and Vinny departure has meant we are spineless when opponents go in front.

It’s not just if down at HT.. I’m struggling to think of many games where we have conceded first and turned it around. No Plan B as we assume that if we go ahead we will win. Not a negative comment just fact.
Watford a couple of years back comes to mind. Sergio header at the death

Are you joking? He made up about 20 yards on vardy in the second half when vardy was through. Throughout his entire city career he has always been the go-to man to get back when we're caught out of position.

Yes I suspect there will be some comebacks but I really think the team don’t know what to do if they go behind or opposition equalises. Leicester was a good case in point. Looked pretty comfortable then they get the pen just before HT and then the result was inevitable given the way Leicester play

Yeah, I can’t recall another win from a losing position tbh. I’m looking at the Leicester game with another angle now. If Ferna hadn’t missed that sitter and Rodri not gone too early, it would have been a different game completely. The 3 penalties apart, we weren’t as bad as I first thought. However, it was not up to our normal standards.

Only just lifted my head since Sunday. A lot of sore and angry folks on here. I feel your pain but feel this has been coming. What really gets me is I have lost interest in football over last couple of seasons. VAR and corruption have soiled it beyond redemption.
But after Sunday I feel i would look like I was backing away because we are looking shit. Sounds like RAG behaviour. So in a perverse way i am now fully back on board so I can say I was there when we were shit (yet again).

Yes, we were poor by our standards. Yes, we outplayed Leicester by a distance nevertheless. Yes 12 stone Leicester players did unnatural vertical take-offs like fairies when a City arm exerted no force whatsoever. Yes, our players carry on running when fouled in the box. But that's not my point. With David leaving, we have lost the greatest Prem player of the last ten years - better and far more consistent than Hazard. And with Sergio injured, we are temporarily without the greatest goalscorer in Prem history - the guy with a better strike rate than Henry. Sergio gets into the heads of the opposition, scares the life out of them, makes them wary of attacking us. So when he comes back, no more moaning from some that 'He's not quite what he was'. He's everything and more than what he was. Always annoyed me on here when a small number of 'know very littles' tried to make out that David was fading. He wasn't fading. Never relied on pace, tenacious in the tackle, monumental assist rate, imperious passer of the ball, scoring goals. David and Sergio have character - gentle characters off the pitch - hard as nails on it. They are bona fide geniuses. Any team in the world would miss those two geniuses.
