Nicolas Tagliafico

Am I the only one thinking zinch to ajax seems to make a lot of sense? Theyve got rid of van de beek & would hopefully be selling this guy to us, so surely a young LB/CM hybrid is a perfect replacement? If he's cool with it of course
No you're right, it definitely makes a lot of sense, if he's guaranteed gametime

Ajax for Zinckencho is a hell of a step down, not much chance the player would want that move, he is far better than that.

He gets regular CL, gametime in league and plays for one of the biggest clubs in world football, hardly a step down is it. If we are smart we will try and make this work in favour of us

Depends who you are for KDB it would be a step down. For Zinchenko a chance to play regularly competeing for titles and c/l football in his right position I think it's a good level for him.

Ajax are one of the biggest clubs in world football? thats a new one.

The dutch league is very, very weak, after playing for City like he has, that is an enormous step down.

This guy could play in any of the major leagues without looking out of place, he is a quality player and has a great attitude.

They can just pretend he's Van de Beek with the way he looks!

That's not a new one. Obviously the league is weak, but that's the best option he can get, I can't see a CL club offering him a starter spot and bid for him in remaining days, such little time left. It seems the only sensible solution, imo.

Or, we just keep him and get someone Jan, which isn't ideal.

Yeah that's more of what the point was. For his level Ajax would be a good move. Get settled there under a good manager and lock down a position, then he can either stay or move elsewhere. I don't think we have any need for him, good player, technically sound, but not quite our level.

Although, if he did stay, I would like for him to get a run in midfield, but seems Pep is bent on not letting that happen.

This is the easier one to do vs Alaba?
Let's be honest both aren't likely but this is definitely the easier one. Ajax hold the advantage because they'll know City need a left back so could try and rinse us. Likely if we go with 30-35m they could accept, but even that's a lot. We can only hope.

Agreed,it would be a great move, especially in terms of an opportunity of (re)building his career/future in his natural position. If he makes a name for himself there,he will very quickly be picked up again.

He's under contract, he goes where HE wants and where suits him, he has never let us down and is a model pro.

What? He isn't a good left back, isn't deemed good enough to play anywhere else in midfield. Model pros and nice people isn't the reason he's going to stay, just like Otamendi didn't.

I know we haven't had any Links with him since the start of the window but I'd much rather we go for Ryan Ait Nouri from Angers instead of Tagliafico who I think is average at best going forward and extremely rash in defence.

He is not a left back, he is AMF, and a very decent one, but not good enough for our side, there again, few players are.
He is under contract, if he wants to stay, stay he will.

Why? You haven't watched more than 3 Angers matches in all probability.

Many forget Zin has lived and played in Holland before when we loaned him out to PSV?
