Nicolas Tagliafico

I don’t understand you don’t rate him.
Here’s an interesting read. He’d be perfect for us. A great mix of offensive and defensive qualities.

I hope he's a good player and we get him but I'm very suspect about that kind of 'analysis'. Angelino was considered to be one of the outstanding left backs in the Dutch league.

Angelino is a wingback, that’s where he plays for RBL & I’m sure he did the same in the Eredivisie. Unfortunately just not at all suited to playing in a back 4 which is what we require.

The guy on Sky earlier said he can't defend, doesn't attack all that well but could play that creative, inverted fullback role for City.

I thought he was pretty good at defending & a good crosser etc, have I got the wrong bloke ?
If that’s Sky’s analysis he’ll probably be in the UEFA team of the year for the next 5 seasons.

Reminds me of TalkSPORT’s expert analysis; ‘Yaya Toure is an ok midfielder but nothing special’ and ‘I’ve never heard of David Silva’.

I seem to remember the British media championing the signing of Christian Poulsen - as a 'master stroke' ! How did that work out?

To be fair, it was Tim Vickery who only talks about South American players and he did say he’d be very well suited to City.

I remember that.

And Mike Parry & some other clueless twat talking about us spending 'all that money' on players like Silva & Yaya when we could have had Joe Cole.

One of them on the show said he wouldn't recognize Silva and Yaya if they were stood at a bus stop! A City fan rang in an embarrassed them both saying Yaya and Silva had just won the Champions League and World Cup between them.

But the player he described, was someone 'clever' on the ball who could play that inverted fullback role, but can't really defend & doesn't offer anything in attack.

From my memory, the player I thought we were chasing, bombs forward & puts crosses in but also likes a tackle; Zabba ish.

I figured I must have been remembering the wrong bloke, but replies on here suggest I'm thinking of the right one & he's talking utter shite & getting paid for it.

If we get this lad ill get over being salty about not being in for Reguilon

Great player, but its clear we had no interest in being Madrid’s bitch and training one of their players up for a year, only for them to take him off us again next summer for whatever paltry buy back fee they put in his contract - and we’re back at square one.

To give them credit - even the Rags refused to be played like that, and backed out of the deal.

Clearly Tottenham have no such issue, and are happy to accept their place in the European order as Madrid’s feeder club.

I’m happy we didn’t go anywhere near that deal - however good the player may be.

Tagliafico is one of those signings you can't get excited about until he starts showing it on the pitch for us. Unless you are so fed up with Mendy that any LB will do.

Nothing stands out about him, in terms of his career trajectory and abilities. He is Argentina's starting LB. But then you remember that so was Rojo.

This is not a criticism. LB is just one of those positions where it's really hard to get someone world class.
