People can talk about how 'it's about sending a message', but our board are fucking awful at selling players and have a wierd chip on their shoulders in the way they do business. It cost us €70m last season with Sane as well.

A shiny new toy is always the answer for some on here. I havnt seen Telles play (atleast havnt noticed) and I am sure most suggesting him, Tagliofico (except the WC) havnt seen much of those either.Signing any left back available is definitely not the answer. If Telles was that good other clubs than United would have been in for him at the price he went for.
If we'd have wanted Telles we would have got him.
My point isn't that we should have signed him, my point is that we just threw away cash to the same value of a decent player in order to prove some non-point.
We now have a player who doesn't want to be here and isn't needed given he has 5 other options ahead of him, who will sign a contract with Barca in January, we carry on paying his wages and then he leaves for nothing next summer.
No one wins here.
