I highly doubt money was the issue mate. We could've signed who we wanted, maybe the manager thinks options brought it and existing players from squad are enough for now, so let's leave it to him.
It allows Harwood-Bellis to get a decent loan out imo. With Tosin going & Sandler irrelevant then we have 5 centre backs which I think are needed.

Stones has recurring injury issues, Aké might have to play a lot at left back. So keeping Garcia for an additional year till we get a proper left back or someone else in is only beneficial to us. He will undoubtedly get gametime if needed. No loss, only Barça's, who got neither Depay, nor Garcia as their 2 targets for final day.

Why are we labelled with spending millions but can't get world class players to come ?
We spend because we have money and get in players that can help our team, sometimes that works sometimes it doesn't. Not complicated

My point isn't that we should have signed him, my point is that we just threw away cash to the same value of a decent player in order to prove some non-point.

We now have a player who doesn't want to be here and isn't needed given he has 5 other options ahead of him, who will sign a contract with Barca in January, we carry on paying his wages and then he leaves for nothing next summer.

No one wins here.

By this logic you'd accept what, a £1m offer? We could sign a hot prospect youth player for that. What would have been your walking away point in £ value?

So going into Guardiola’s fifth season and our left back options are a mentally deranged future Big Brother France contestant with knees made of sawdust, a pussy whipped Ukrainian snail midfielder who hides behind his missus to indirectly slag off the tram and manager and a mentally weak, soft as shite right back who hates living in England and who has had three good games against shite cannon fodder in his entire City career.
Yeah, the Catalan cult lads will be bashing that tambourine and singing Ku Ba fucking Ya around the old camp fire tonight while downing the Barca Kool-Aid and kissing pictures of their hero Txixi tonight.
Fucking cunts

My logic is based on us turning down an €18m offer from Barca because it was €2 lower than what we wanted.

It's petty and illogical given the circumstances.

I'm quite happy having a backup for Dias who isn't constantly injured.
Next season we can sign his and Stones replacement.

Some meltdown that, fair play.

It's being reported as €10m + €8m in potential add ons. Would you have accepted that?

I respectfully but strongly disagree that it's petty or illogical.

I would never have accepted that. He can still play well in cups so it’s worth losing the 10m. If the fixed fee was 18, would have been plain stupid to turn down.

A player City valued at £20m, Barça were willing to offer a mere £8m up front, rather lose him on a free than accept that.

Completely agree. Good move by the club.

City have leaked it was 10m plus 8m add-ons. Laughable offer.

£15m for a player that has 9 months left on his contract and is currently our 5th choice CB is a very acceptable offer.

Thiago went for £20m to Liverpool in similar circumstances for goodness sake.
