Marcus Rashford lobbying govt to help vulnerable children

Neil Ashton, he didn’t leave the BBC he was a written media journalist who hosted Sky’s Sunday Supplement then left to set up his own media company with the rags as his first client. He’s a Palace fan
Well Ashton is certainly earning his money. He should be getting a bonus.

Gordon Brown just mentioned Marcus Rashford 5 times in a short interview about school meals generally after Naga Munchetty had also mentioned his name for no particular reason in the intro.
Gormless Gordie got into his stride talking of the Sainted One going to bed hungry.
In various places reference can be found of Rashford being allowed into Uniteds academy earlier than anyone before at 11. This meant that he was in digs locally and no club allows its academy kids to be poorly fed and United have a history of 'looking after' parents going back at least as far as a new fitted kitchen being used to bribe Giggs from joining City. Families are moved to Manchester and jobs found for them. One that jumps to mind is the Jizzy Jazz family who were brought over and lived in some gated posh development in Didsbury. He with all the academy kids went to Ashton on Mersey School, no St Bede's but still an oversubscribed school under education minded Trafford and not some underperforming school in Wythy as is implied.
Once again l am behind Rashford for showing his interest and allowing his name to be of good use but all this has been hyped up just as much as most United football stories.

I know someone who’s good friends with MR’s dad. He’s never gone hungry in his life.

I am not surprised to hear that at all.
There are loads of kids whose parents are on benefits. St Marcus is painted as if he is the only one.
Now he is being mentioned as if he is some sort of senior politician. He is a young footballer ffs but if he plays like he did the other night he might ss well go into politics.

Finally we seem to be getting some sense posted in the thread. This is the Rag PR machine at its best (worst) He was selected as no one would believe Magliar.

What he is doing is more for equality than the BLM movement, which is nothing to do with equality and all about superiority. He has put his power and fame to good use. It's not often rags get praised by everyone on here.
I have repeated mentioned the plight of kids in Africa but no one seems to give a toss as they bang on about American politics.
If Marcus Rashford backed the charities who work so hard for these kids or any kids dying of hunger, disease, thirst, warlords, drowning, suffocation etc l would be fully behind him.

What incident?
In March we went into lockdown and we could not meet anyone, not even meet your own Mam
In May he had his 'Brand' (What ?) tattoed on his thigh. Perhaps he did it himself like you used to do at school with some biro ink and a needle.

Eh, Sadio Mane is an absolute **** on the pitch but I still respect him for the fact he's given loads back to his home village. He's a hero there.

Last two pages are full of bitter, more so than the Willie Lee's brewery a few yards down from me.

Tattoos are mystery to me. He apparently has a small boy kicking a ball in some mean streets across his belly.
I wonder how many hungry kids you could feed with that? They are not cheap are they?

Fuck that, a **** is a **** and he is a whopper
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who gives back home Mane does described as a ****. On the pitch yes, every club has cunts. Have a read what Mane does back home. If that's your idea of a **** I find that weird.

Most if not all African players who become a prem star do similar to support their roots back home.

Was it Bellamy who also donated much to African charity?

Sierra Leone if I remember. I would like to think that anyone who had a considerable amount of money would invest in their local communities. I know I would but probably too much too ask of a lot of people in the selfish world we live in
