I recon gundog is nailed on for tomorrow. We all know pep loves him and he’ll want him for his ability to hold onto the ball and not give it away so much as we have been doing. I’m not his biggest fan but I think I’d play him tomoz. Keep possession and block out their counter attacks. Id certainly be playing Lacazette. Auba and Pepe as a three v us
Eddie
Kyle
Ake (lb)
Diaz
Laporte
Fern
Gundog
Foden
Sterling
Sergio
Bernardo

Luiz was there best player in the cup semi final, Arteta has given him a considerable boost following his horror show in the league game at ours...

we win this by being clinical as 99% of the time when we fly out the blocks, nobody lives with us.... couple of early goals and they will do what Arsenal always do, fold

we will hand them there arse tomorrow, gut feeling!

Aguero will have to play for us to be anywhere close to clinical. Let’s hope he does.

I would start with Kun if possible and hope that he can finish some of the chances we have tended to create in the first 30 mins of the game. If he starts to tire then take him off early, as you say we really need to start being clinical in front of goal.

Nail on the head, the last few games we‘ve took the lead and not got that second when we have been on top like Wolves.

Time for Bernie to reproduce the formidables form. He is a tremendous player. Play Bernardo with foden and it will help out the cdm immensely. Time for city to get it together. It just shows how much we have regressed recently dropped that we are worried about arsenal. We need to sort our shit out starting tomorrow. It does not matter who we play as we defeat ourselves at present.

Come on let’s see the real city tomorrow. Crisp passing, fast press and hit the target.

Think we will see a lineup that’s heavily influenced by who Pep has had in training for the past 2 weeks.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Mendy
Fernandinho
Gundogan
Bernardo
Foden
Sterling
Aguero

That’s a team more than capable of sweeping away Arsenal if Pep gets his tactics right and the players carry out his plan efficiently. Two big ifs of lot though.

Been trying to get my head into a positive place ahead of this game - well
actually since the start of the new season

Not getting there unfortunately

I cannot get my head past the opinion that the season has come 2 months too soon for us and we are going to have to expect to drop points unexpectedly in almost any match this side of Xmas.

I am just struggling to see where our pace into attack is going to come from - fingers crossed for a David Luiz brain fart - which is always a 50/50 chance

This run of games will be good for team rhythm. A shame international break returns in about 20 days again, hope it's all good and manageable.

KDB out can't be bad, it will probably allow Pep to have a workhorse midfield out there, as in team working a bit harder to compensate for him missing.

Expected XI:

Ederson

Walker Dias Laporte Mendy

Rodri Gündogan Bernardo

Mahrez Sterling Foden

Aguero probably off the bench for minutes.

I just hope we see Bernardo, Torres & Foden ahead of the fancy dan Mahrez - we need every player to be on it today, no room for complacency - we must to win this game and for that reason I'd risk starting Sergio and take him off after 60 mins.

Well no kev so this is the test. Question marks all over the team for me. Think we're likely to need Laporte, Ruben and Ederson to put in big performances to get anything out of this

Well, if we can stop the ball through, or the chip over, our high line, we will be just fine.

Question is, as always, will we learn from our previous mistakes against this team?

Their own back 3/5 is pretty shit, but if we dawdle getting forward, it’ll be protected by a bank of 4 in front of it!

Consider me crazy, but I might start Delap with two wingers and give Sergio 30 mins in the second half. Luiz doesn’t like playing against a big lad and tends to over-manhandle when faced with one. Then again, Sterling has done well against him, too.

If Sergio has 60 mins in him, he starts, but if not...maybe spring a surprise?!

We’ve won our last six league games against Arsenal, with an aggregate score of 17-2. Granted they’re much improved under Arteta, but you’d still have to fancy our chances, especially at home. De Bruyne is a huge miss, of course, but there’s plenty of others who can step up.

It’s really shit how that match day feeling has just completely gone these days. Got a bad feeling about today’s game but hope I’m wrong.
Ederson Cancelo Dias Laporte Ake; Fernandinho, Bernardo Gundogan, Sterling Mahrez Aguero
