I bet Garcia became a shit defender on the very day he announced he didn’t want to extend with us.
That’s logic for some people.
I hope Eric can stay. Rate him above Stones and always did.
If constantly losing his man, badly playing the offside trap and generally being a bit shit qualifies for reading the game well then, yes he reads the game well.Garcia reads the game so well
He has the makings of being a good player but he doesn’t want to play for us. Why not give game time to others?Good for you. He will look a lot better when he's at Barca

I have no problem with him deciding to go. I think it's best for him and for us. My only problem with him is that I just don't think he's anywhere near good enough as a defender. He's awful in the air, doesn't have much pace and frequently fails to track his runner. Not really the attributes I would want in a CB.
He will probably be better suited to playing in Spain and I wish him luck there.
Doesn't need to be
People don’t recognize his intelligence. He knows he can’t win an aerial duel against a big strong man towering over him at 1.92m, so he stands behind and try to catch the second ball instead. I watched his performance a little extra tonight after reading a lot about him being useless in the air in the prematch thread. He’s a smart player and reads the game well.
imo a lot better than Stones ever did.
Stones has like 70% success rate in the air. Does that make him worldclass? No. It means nothing and tells you nada about a defenders overall capability.

You don’t get capped by Spain at his age if you’re shit do you!I bet Garcia became a shit defender on the very day he announced he didn’t want to extend with us.

I thought it was Pep that announced that Garcia wanted to leave ahead of the Madrid game?I'll fully admit that the fact Garcia decided to announce his intention to return to Barcelona on the eve of our tie with Madrid has influenced my opinion of him.
Previously, I felt him to be slow, undersized, bad in the air, and abysmal at tracking runners. After, I added "is a twat" to that list.
