Scotland data

24 deaths sadly

1101 cases at 6.2% positive

1149 in hospital (DOWN 21)

80 on ventilators (DOWN 3)

This looks fairly promising other than the deaths which would be the last to change, unfortunately. And with the caveat some of those 24 deaths will be in the reduction.

England hospital deaths another shocker - though week to week rise has slowed again.

208 - with 83 from the NW. Last week it was 185 with 74 from NW.

The next nearest regionally were 36 each for Midlands and Yorkshire/NE

London had 20.

Spot on. I had heard that they were going to electrify the Manchester Leeds line. That would be excellent.

Yes, along with realignment and line-speed improvements, but it will be done very incrementally.

Network Rail are proposing to increase electrification to cover 80% of the national network by around 2040 as part of the decarbonisation agenda.

There are various elements of this that we could get on with over the next couple of years while passenger numbers are low and to help give the construction/civil engineering sectors a boost.

should have been done in the first lockdown.

so it's tailing off in the rise then?
If you look at my daily reports around 2 30 every afternoon you can see that pattern. I have posted week to week to week comparisons for case numbers and deaths and patients and ventilators in the three nations. And the deaths and regional split for England each day for a while now. And have noted the decrease in the rises week to week when they occur.

N.Ireland data

11 deaths - most yet in second wave

649 cases

7 day rolling total falls again to 5150

346 patients (down 8) and 41 on ventilators (up 3)

You would give a toss though if your house did not have electricity.
Right ok then, well next time a 16 year old electrician comes round I’ll ask him about Pi and co signs! Or maybe he could learn that at electrician school whilst been able to make himself beans on toast, without burning the house down.

So total UK hospital deaths = 256 compared with 218 last Saturday.

The all settings was later adjusted to 174.

The actual number now known to have died on the actual day before (23 Oct) is 192.
