First an announcement at 4:00, then 5:00 and now maybe delayed again.

Can't say i'm surprised.

And we are looking for these pricks to guide us through a pandemic, I am yet to see one clear piece of leadership throughout this crisis.

Clowns, don't have a clue any of them

Exactly, I was just using this as an example of how the rules can be manipulated. I haven't played a course outside of a 5 mile radius for 7 months now. However we all know that there will he huge numbers of people looking for ways to bypass any rules or systems put in place.
But as is discussed, the country is full of fuckin idiots who want to bend rules (not directed at you)

Well that is their sole job
But it’s not the sole job of politicians or public health consultants. Macmillan estimate 50000 people are out there with undiagnosed cancers, 33000 have had their treatment interrupted, mouth and oral cancers not being spotted as no dental appointments are being made and that’s just for cancer..

North west R number is 1.0. Lockdown 2 coming with cases in the worst affected areas dropping doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, although success is already ‘baked in’, so maybe it does........
I live in a Tier 3 area and our numbers have fallen for the last four days.
Now all the hard work will be thrown out of the window because of all those clamouring for a national lockdown.
It seems a complete waste of time that for the last three weeks we’ve pulled together to reduce the numbers only to have more stringent restrictions.

cheers to those who have been screaming for an increase in totalitarian measures

Other news today

Bradford again had the most cases at 466.

Leicester at 263 - most I can ever recall here - and so was Nottingham - well up at 269 - were higher than Liverpool down at its lowest since tier 3 of 256.

Goes without saying Wigan beat all of them. Indeed so did Oldham.

Knowsley was almost 100 lower than it was when tier 3 started there - at just 83.

But in the NW Blackburn - though down on recent days - rose 101 in its pop score and at 4328 has by some distance the biggest score in the UK.

Though Greater Manchester gained its first member of the 4000 club today.

I have not only had a smear during lockdown i also went to the dentist for treatment two weeks ago and going back next week, my mammogram has been put back only a month, i have also been to see the lung consultant and had lung function tests and due a ct . My point being , the nhs is not closed , you cant say you cant get screening and treatment everywhere . My brother was treated for lung cancer during lockdown as well

Wonder what happens in Wales? We come out of our own lockdown in a week's time. Will everyone be able to cross the border to go shopping here?

Of course it’s about case numbers. If case numbers are falling, then hospital numbers and deaths will fall in subsequent weeks, as you well know.
No , i said not ALL about cases and because there is about three weeks lags on deaths and about ten days lag on people going to hosp and then into icu , the numbers of cases depends on testing which since the start has been all over the place , track and trace is not much better, the numbers are not exact on tests , they are test not people numbers

England hospital data:

Patients up just 141 - even less than yesterday - to 8822. Was 6518 a week ago.

Ventilators actually down 3 to 800. Was 601 a week ago.

Working out how to distinguish it from what SAGE and Captain Foresight Kier were calling for.
All about the politics for the Tories.
PS If you want to know the details in advance Peston has leaked them on Twitter.

Going to be interesting to see how the Government defend their decision to go against the advice of Sage.

To keep banging the mantra of following the science throughout this pandemic and then ignoring it in September and October, and then having to go into a lockdown in November stinks of miss management

It is not all about case numbers , it is about what the strains on the local hosps are

Exactly! yes it does have a correlation with case numbers but as you say, lack of beds etc is the main driver.

I live in an area with a huge University but a tiny Hospital that just about copes when the students aren't there, the shit has hit the fan due to half the students having Covid, resulting in no beds at the 2 nearest Hospitals.
