As a country we couldn’t even do a half arsed (as you call it) lockdown earlier this year. Can’t compare the UK to NZ, it’s a ridiculous comparison. Why not Germany or France who have just gone into lockdowns or Belgium? We should have had a harsh 10 week lockdown to start with but there was not a cat in hells chance of this country following rules so the government have tried to rest people like adults but seen it thrown back in their faces. Watch the news the next few days with people having parties etc spreading the virus around like twats. If we hadn’t been such selfish wankers to start with things may have been easier but that’s not the way of the oxygen thieves in this country is it

Course it is,they've made it up as they have gone along,and continue to do so,watch the relevant news programme where a question has been asked,ie - Rigby on Sky News,questions not answered proper.

80% of virus transmission comes from this new Spanish genetic variant. It would have got in eventually but just like in February foreign travel has fucked us over.
The Government should have stuck to its guns and enforced some form of quarantine - sadly the chattering classes wanted their foreign holidays.

i feel sorry for the companies that have to close again, and people are told to work from home if you can, but we ignore the threat that kids will bring into the household. Many kids around here walk shoulder to shoulder, no facemasks from the train station or bus stop, walk around the town like it a dinner time. I understand kids need school but they arent obeying the guidelines when out of school.

But does this mean my lads gf cant come over and he cant visit her ??

It’s daft as fuck. Can’t see how shutting places that are barely or aren’t at all contributing to the spread, but keeping open some of the very biggest spreading areas like schools, will do much to the numbers.

The only right thing about this is the banning of people going to each other’s homes. That’s the big one that should have come in as soon as this new wave started weeks ago.

But gyms, coffee shops, restaurants and even pubs... total token action to close them. All it will do is increase the numbers of job losses and businesses going under.


No, no social mixing indoors from other homes (apart from supporting vulnerable individuals). They can meet outdoors though.

Who the fuck would want that job at the moment?? Captain Hindsight has the easiest job at present.. he can comment and criticise without ever being on the hook to do anything about Covid

They have actually closed schools in NI and it has made no difference. I think we are fucked whatever we do.

This seems to me a kneejerk reaction to a nation that is increasingly demanding a christmas of normality.
That chris whitty bloke has just actually said lets see how it goes in the next few weeks. Lets see how it goes? Fucking hell.
We shouldn't be locking down to just bring the figures down temperarely in preparation for the enevitable rise they know will happen in january.
We need a leader to tell the nation to sacrifice this xmas for the good of the population. They know people will be irresponsible but they cant do anything about it.
I know xmas is a traditional time for families to get together etc, but surely this is even more reason to start telling the populace to plan for a stay at home holiday.
Hard I know, but these fuckwits are just making it up as they go along.
I like boris, but he isn't a leader, a talisman, or someone you'd want watching your back.
We need a fucking sergeant major, not a bumbling idiot.
Just tell us how it is, in fucking plain english.
Not an attack on the tories, but I cant make any sense of this.
