Found the reason for the slow counting...

Is that a flip and will it affect the Republican majority?
Yes it is. Martha McSally is the incumbent. Thought it was confirmed that there were no changes other than the 2 run offs in Georgia which gave the chance of a 50-50 with the deciding vote going to VP-elect Harris, but apparently not. Could make it 49-49 with the 2 run offs to follow.

I think they're going to pull it off.

The Georgia run-off is going to be massive and ultimately the decisive battle, but from what I was reading about Alaska as well, it seems that might be very possible too.

Then Kamala wouldn't even have to get involved, which would be nice.

It makes it 48-50 with the two GA run-offs to come, as Tilis (R) is likely winning the NC senate race.

EDIT: That’s if the Alaska senate race actually goes to Young (R), which is favoured but could change as they begin their mail-in ballot counting next week.

Interesting, thanks. Am I right in thinking the run offs are Dem weighted?
