Just saw some whopper on the GMP Twitter feed spouting off that it’s everyone’s basic human right to have freedom of movement and he posted a link to the UN website to try and prove his point. I told him not when it breaks the friggin’ law (and potentially endangers the lives of others into the bargain). Another saying the govt are out of order imposing these lockdowns and restrictions, but if anything our government have been soft as shite compared to other countries on that score.

Was talking to a few polish guys,they said quarantine in Poland you abide by it,the police come around every day at different times and if your not there a fine and abit of a beating,no come back on the police,

Not long been up and heard two ambulances already. Those tosssers in town yesterday should be ashamed.

First of all you’ve no idea what those ambulances were needed for and secondly yesterday’s March won’t have had any bloody affect yet, if at all! Thirdly we heard all the same about gatherings going to make it all worse yet we didn’t see huge spikes during the summer after everyone was supposedly meeting on beaches!!

Heaton park was packed on Saturday, Bogurt hole Clough yesterday at the monument for the fallen was the same, if people were allowed to mix at home they’d have been there instead of having to meet in public and creating larger groups, this government once again had used no common sense and created the problem for itself.

You can’t tell people it’s not safe to meet but tell them it’s safe to send kids to school, people just aren’t going to accept the first one is accurate.

You have a point - but they will go into shops and other areas inside shops etc and infect people.

You could be talking about pretty much any western government and country. Have even Scotland / Wales done any better? France had 80k cases one day last week. Are all governments incompetent or just ours?

They are stupid selfish twats , who will cause the the virus to spread I don't care if you think the gov is incompetent. If you are too stupid to understand the importance of the restrictions ask any nurse or paramedic after they have completed their shift , then the penny may drop but then again you seem to be a a bit of a tit

One i have spoken to a few Ambulance workers and they said vast majority of all these sirens are covid related. 2 of course they wont be related to yesterday i don't think that needed an explanation mark!!

The pictures i saw at the demonstration showed no masks and people very closely packed together.

I maintain - wankers.

You have made some good points on this thread over the past few months but I simply can't agree with this. There's a big difference between people who are observing all the guidelines and going to the shops for food, etc, and those who are riding roughshod over those guidelines by attending stupid illegal protests with thousands of others - with no sign of masks or social distancing - which in turn increases the risk of catching the virus and passing it on when they then go to the shops for supplies.

Same as in schools then, or probably in plenty of building sites and factories. People close together and not wearing masks.

Can I just say, and this is my final point today as I’ve got to take my girlfriend to an appointment she’s finally got albeit 8 months late, that no protests in this country should be illegal!!
In the last couple of days I’ve read posts about tasering, locking up and banning protests.... seriously some people should reread their posts... this is supposed to be the U.K. not bloody Russia, NK or China!!

You should come on my sites - they look very different to what happened yesterday in Town. No handshakes, plenty of masks and distance.
 
end of the day, the priority will always be ensuring hospital capacity doesn't reach max limit and there's a mass panic for ICU shortages, that is a horrific scenario and a realistic one if we all ignored the rules - unfortunately many will and gatherings/protests won't help, but as long at the majority are obeying then we can just about stay on top of it.
