Don't care about him, Barca can have him.

We got 4 CBs from the academy showing alot of promise, and 2 senior CB developing the best partnership we've seen in years, future's bright in defense!

Stones is a good backup cb with ake, for being fourth choice , I dont know anyone willing to do that.

It isn't about just getting rid, in my opinion, it is about saying to Barcelona and other 'historic' clubs that we have a price and if you do not meet it, you wait and potentially lose the player. Yesterday, apparently, they offered £7m - whatever you think of him, he is a full Spanish international and highly rated in his country.

Wonder how much we will get if it went to a tribunal!? The player is a full international and an option in a premier top club?

If you were buying the equivalent from a club how much would they ask? The record for a centre back is 85m so a lad with so much potential who Pep rates highly and Barcelona wants desperately I reckon a tribunal should set the fee at around 30m

Barcelona could be declared bankrupt if they are unable to reduce their wages bill by 190 million euros by the end of next week, RAC1 reports. Negotiations to lower salaries began on Friday with a meeting between lawyers representing the club and the players.

For Barça, it is a race against time. They need to reach an agreement with the players to cut wages by 30% by Thursday 5 November or run the risk of being declared bankrupt in January. One of the most worrying situations is that concerning Leo Messi because if he decides not to renew his contract, the club will also be obliged to pay him a bonus for reaching the end of his contract.

There might not even be a club for Garcia to join when his contract with City expires!

Genuinely don't see the point in keeping him passed Jan. Take the 7/8 million, give Stones and THB the 4th CB spot and move on from this sideshow we don't need. Far too many of these side stories going on and for a player thats leaving anyway, cut our losses and take the cash.

couldnt care less when he goes. H ehas shown he cannt be a top centre half in the premier league....he hasnt got the physical attributes needed and Id happily sell him to Barca....7-8m is fine but if the club wnat more and Barca wont pay it then hold him tot he end of his contract...Barca dont get the player they want/need for another 6 months.....its exaclty what they have done with Messi - we lose 7-20m (depending upon our evaluation of him - they could lose a lot lot more on Messi if he does come here.

Stones has proven he is not reliable enough from a fitness point of view. Ake has had issues. Laporte has had issues. No harm in having cover.

Garcia is better than THB right now and thats what matters. I dont think anyone at the club is expecting Garcia to be around next season but this season hes good cover.

According to the Cartel in general, if we had broken FFP rules, we effectively 'cheated' by purchasing players or having a wage bill we couldn't afford. We didn't.

This situation if correct, means Barca have been buying players & or paying wages they couldn't afford.

So they have gained the advantage of having used that money to maintain their status at the expense of others.

Covid is no excuse. They have just prevented Messi from removing millions from their wage bill.

They have been cheating.

Does indicate how absolutely ineffective FFP is in it's supposed aims, when a club as big as Barca could go bankrupt and FFP has done nothing to prevent it

It was only contrived to stop us.

UEFA don't care about clubs going bust as the big teams like Barca will always attract money from sponsors, or a new owner to buy them out of trouble, and they don't care about clubs like Bolton or Portsmouth, that's just an excuse to change the rules because Utd and Bayern, etc got scared.

Unfortunately we played along with their bent rules and didn't fuck them over in court or challenge why it is ok for Utd to be in hundreds of millions of debt yet continue to spend. They can't have it both ways.

Why is it ok for rags to keep buying £90m players while owing the Glazers' banks £400m? Yet we get punished if we spend £20m more than we had in income over a season?

As a cup 1/2 full man i get to see a utd team with unmanageable debts, unaffordable wage bill with a team at least 9 top class players off being anywhere near competitive with rules put in place by them that now stop them from buying their way out of trouble with short term investment.
