I'm not wanting to create controversy on purpose.
It's a worldwide pandemic and I know people who have had it.
However a lot of people I speak to and some are in the medical profession say the daily figures are not correct and are grossly exaggerated.
If that is the case it begs the question why? Is something else happening that we dont yet know?
Not believing isn't controversy, its your belief. I think you are wrong, but what you or I think doesn't change things.

Reading this it’s like some of you actively like being locked up

imo they’ve locked down now precisely so they can open up for Christmas.

They’d be nuked at the next election if they didn’t.
I know some friends and family that do seem to prefer it to normal life. And the longer it goes on, the worse that will be. I commented on here on the number of people who are saying ‘this isn’t lockdown. It’s like normal’. It’s not like any normal I’ve ever known. I’m accepting it and doing my bit. But I don’t want to do it for a single second longer than I need to.

The mother in law not being able to come round is a big bonus though.

Whatever the Government do they will be crucified.

Open up with tiers in December and people will just ignore it and cases will rise. Blame the Government.

Further lockdown, people will ignore it, cases will rise, blame the Government.

Open everything up everywhere, cases will rise, blame the Government.

Don't get me started on politics. In a pandemic, why the two main parties can't sit round a table and agree on the best way forward for the country as a whole is beyond me. It's just a point scoring exercise!

We should be wielding care homes and universities shut until the new year. With unlimited supplies of mince pies and sherry for the former and weed and ket for the latter.
Personally I think none of us will come out of this below Tier 2, if and when it's lifted.

If I was welded in a care home over Christmas I’d be demanding the weed and ket.........

Rochdale 197 - down from 201. Total cases 10, 955. Weekly 1227. Pop score up 89 - most in GM today - to 4926. May be in the 5000 club as number 3 in the UK behind Blackburn and Oldham tomorrow. Weekly Pop down to 552.

Oldham 186 - down from 231. Total cases 12, 998. Weekly 1481. Pop score up 79 to 5482. Weekly Pop down to 625.

Salford 174 - down from 220. Total cases 11, 593. Weekly 1230. Pop score up 67 to 4479, Weekly Pop down to 475.

Bolton 173 - down big from 258. Total cases 13, 368. Weekly 1349. Pop score up 60 to 4649. Weekly Pop down to 469.

Tameside 157 - down from 172. Total cases 9225. Weekly 954. Pop score up 69 to 4073. Weekly Pop down to 421.

Stockport 151 - down from 168. Total cases 9409. Weekly 1008. Not quite enough to go back under 1000 weekly. Pop score up 52 to 3207 - lowest rise in GM today. Weekly Pop down to 344.

Trafford 128 - down 133. Total cases 8129. Weekly 900. Lowest in GM. Pop score up 54 to 3425. Now 218 behind Stockport in overall Pop Sore race. Weekly Pop down to 379 but the gap to Stockport as current best in GM rise by 11 to 35.

Bury 109 - big drop from 180 to score best of day. Total cases 8620. Weekly 985. The race for monthly lowest between these 4 last boroughs back on as it was before wave 2 hit. Possibly the most obscure yet best clue that a corner really has been turned in GM. Pop score up 57 to 4513. Weekly Pop down to 515.

Weekly Pop Scores (highest is worst) today v last Saturday

Oldham 625 v 778 - down 153. Big improvement. But way to go to be back to the 464 it was a month ago.

Rochdale 552 v 604 - down 52. Moved out of the 600s and likely the top 10 red watch locations soon. Needs to get to 508 to be where it was a month ago.

Bury 515 v 593 - down 78. Another town that was riding high now dropping fast on watch lists. But needs to be at 425 to be back where it was 4 weeks ago.

Wigan 486 v 611 - down 125. Gone from basket case up top to sub 500 for first time in months. And almost exactly where it was a month ago now at 482.

Salford 475 v 577 - down 102. Another that was riding high on the Gov watch list now falling. Is now lower than the 486 it was a month ago.

Bolton 469 v 534 - down 65. Looks to be well over the big outbreak. Another town lower than the 484 of a month ago,

Tameside 421 v 495 - down 74. Slight uptick lately but the epidemic it went through for a time taking to up to the high 500s is gone and is not far off the 404 it was a month ago.

Manchester 406 v 446 - down 40. Despite topping the list daily its population size means that relatively those numbers are nothing like as bad as they seem. Week to week numbers are falling. And it is improving from the high 490s it was 4 weeks back when students were testing positive.

Trafford 379 v 398 - down 19. Harder to drop with the lower numbers but going the right way. It was at 347 a month ago so almost back there but consistent numbers means it has stayed within a range of just over 100 throughout.

Stockport 344 v 395 - down 51. Similar story to Trafford . At 301 was the lowest in GM a month ago but started rising with the rest of GM and even went as high as 508 and was behind Trafford. Now nearly back to 4 wks ago.

I love how the US has to go one better. Boris calls it Project Moonshot when he wants to get testing sorted. Now the US vaccine roll out is being labelled Project Warp Speed.

Tempted to think it may be so called as Trump's Captain Kirk like attempt to kling on to power by saving the universe.

But they apparently have plans to vaccinate 20 million in December and another 20 million in January.

It isn’t supposed to be like the first lockdown, whether it’s working will take another 2 weeks to see.
This is simply false. They have said the opposite, that going back to the tiering system will not be adequate post lock down.

If England returns to the same application of the tiering system in place before 5th November, then transmission will return to the same rate of increase as today

Well as cases haven't gone down it is clear that lockdown is totally failing.
The reason? Schools are still open.

I dont believe the daily figures of tests or number of deaths whatsoever, haven't done for months. The daily numbers are complete bullshit, fabricated and fudged to suit an agenda.
Sage have also consistently got there predictions and forecasts completely wrong.

Are the tests 100% reliable? I've heard there is concern about their accuracy. I walked past a testing station yesterday, there was an unbelievable queue of people looking healthy, probably just wanting a positive test so they can boast about it. You can only question the daily death totals that get thrust upon us when they are counting flu related deaths as covid ones when we are in flu season.

Also, I don't know a single person in the vulnerable bracket who want forced lockdowns. Most people I know over 70 are fed up of not being able to do anything. I'm steering clear of jumping to the conclusion of agendas, but something seems odd that smaller businesses are closed like gyms, but you can go and stuff your face in McDonalds still.

Thats an article from the end of July. This is the current state of affairs.

It hasnt worked and they are now attempting voluntary lockdown (guess how well that is working). Sweden don't publish cases over the weekend but reported rolling figures of 4.519 cases and 10 deaths on Thursday. That equates to 49,709 cases and 111 deaths in the UK.
They have kept most cases under the U30's as cases only started to take off 2 weeks ago.

Healthy people wanting to be positive so they can boast. There has been some shit posted over the months about covid. Congrats on posting the best yet.

They have to close schools now otherwise the lockdown will go on through Christmas. Schools should now close for christmas

I wonder how many people get arrested for crimes they committed years ago if and when we come out of this. I can’t see them destroying all that dna they have taken.
