Well what we believe doesnt matter. If half of nhs nurses dont take the vaccine this will snowball throughout society. This is why i said we will still have lockdowns at the end of next year and it will be a long time before we are back to the football
You'd hope that whole nurses would take the vaccine. If only half of nurses took them then we'd be in a right mess. Which half of the nurse would take it and where are you splitting? Is the top half gonna take it but not the bottom OR the right half and not the left? The savings on PPE just wouldn't be worth it unless all the tests were uniform. One nurse has their left half vaccinated but not the right? What if they're right handed? They'll be shedding virus all over the place. What if they just get the bottom half vaccinated and they share a hat with a vulnerable person?

You get the whole nurse vaccinated or don't bother. Wasting time with this half and half nonsense

You have to hand it to those pesky Russians and their army of chat bots on social media. They want the world to buy their vaccine and creating mistrust on social media is their way of doing it, looks like it’s working on the mistrust side of things.

What’s the other option then to not having with vaccine? Needlessly kill people who could be saved by it, leave people struggling with the long covid which fucks you up for your rest of your life. Overwhelm the health service and then have a knock on effect of people dying from cancer, heart disease etc from everything being shelved to fight covid. Then tank the economy, poverty going through the roof and a rise in suicides.

I can understand people being suspicious but what’s the other option?
I agree there's nothing wrong with people being sceptics given the amount of lies and fake news out there (some of it from official sources) but what bothers me is those people (and I know some) who say: "I don't trust vaccines" but are happy to throw ten pints down their neck, smoke joints, and eat dodgy curries without batting an eyelid. Vaccines have saved millions of lives across the world and without them a lot of us would not even exist. We just need a bit of common sense but it seems to be in short supply these days.

Where is your evidence to substantiate your claim that 50% of NHS staff will refuse the vaccine, or is it another of "your beliefs"?

for those asking, this must be the source, rounded down quite somewhat;

63% of nurses said they would have it, 23% dont know, 14% no. Common concerns included unknown side-effects and that it might be “rushed through”.

What evidence do you have for your outlandish claims that nurses won't take vaccines. Most of my extended family work in the NHS, five of them nurses (two front-line Covid). I can assure you they all support vaccines and other drugs treatments. You are just spreading poison.

Polio, Rubella, Measles etc just drifted off into obscurity of course.

No coincidence measles in particular is becoming more prevalent in areas of high vaccine scepticism.

Don't know how people will change. I was always a germs are good for building immunity to bugs person, but think there is a lot more awareness now of the dangers of viruses, even more awareness of the dangers of flu, rather than just a few germs or the common colds. We'll see bu think our customers will have a new expectation from us and other shops.
I did hear somebvody on the radio complaining about Costa concessions in hospitals putting lids on for customers that included visitors, patients ,staff. Saying it's a practice that should never happen i hospitals Covid or no covid.
I think that being more hygienic is to be recommended, however we do need to remember the difference between bacterial and viral infections, creating more sterile environments could leave us more susceptible to minor infections in the future especially as some antibiotics don't work as well as they used to.
We need to ensure that we dont cross the line of allowing the body to build up natural resistance to things around us.

well it was from a reputable source the exact number doesnt matter as if a lot of nhs nurses arent vaccinated covid will spread through the health system. Therefore lockdowns will have to continue there is no choice. it is why i believe we are a long way off getting back to normal even with a vaccine

The only problem with PCR tests is sensititivity.

1/1000 (0.1%) test +ve when they should have tested -ve. So the tests are highly specific.

5/100 (5%) test -ve when they should have tested +ve. So sensitivity is very good - but it's not fantastic. But if you have symptoms you realty should isolate anyway as you are ill! Government advice on this point is not great.

There really has to be a concerted effort to change public opinion before it becomes a problem. The only thing that everyone will get together for is our NHS, so step to it Boris and have some marketing done with the NHS all over it dispelling this tripe.

Every nurse and doctor i know, there's 3 in my family plus all of their work colleagues, is up for a vaccine. I would imagine you are lying. Making stuff up. Or in forum speak a wum. An utterly pointless and unhelpful post.

I see Nicola is trying to turn the independence tide, now she’s got the taste for real power. This is data for Glasgow, where positive tests are clearly reducing.

Presumably they’ll be moved down to Level 2 or, at worst, left in Level 3 for a week, to ensure downward trend is set in? Not on your life.
Moved into Level 4 where it is now illegal to leave or enter. It's not only worrying it’s becoming Kafkaesque....
Down for a week, it is the start of winter, we need toget it down and keep it down as low as possible for when flu kicks in , i dont know why you dont want to accept it

The exact number does matter. You said half. With no proof. Who's this reputable source?

You have just confirmed yourself as being a wum.

And as always, you’re quite wrong.

So total deaths so far in UK = 410. It was 372 last Tuesday. And 263 the Tuesday before that. So a clear slow down.

The all settings will add on quite a lot. Last week all settings went up to 532.
