To be fair you are right and it’s good that this is happening now but next week is a massive step up from the likes of Fulham and Burnley but then again we will never know unless we play stones against the top teams .

So basically you're worried Stones might do exactly what Laporte actually did do in our last big game?

Not that terrifying when you put it like that, is it?

Or maybe, just maybe, Pep is doing exactly what he promised he would do the very first time Stones came back in the side and not dropping someone until they make a mistake?

There is an issue in the squad of lacking personal responsibility for mistakes and fuck ups which effect everyone else's season, and career. It's partly because we always say, and Pep always says the system is king. It's the #1. A problem that seems to have come from that is the system takes responsibility when people make the same old mistake again and again.

Whether it's Aguero or Sterling missing big chances or Laporte fucking up at the back, somehow these players need to start delivering under serious pressure and as far as I can tell, what Pep is doing is putting on that pressure.

You fuck up? Enjoy the bench for the next month, someone else can and will do your job.

When Laporte comes back in the side he knows that any mistake he makes and he's back on the bench watching. And if he can't cope with that he can't take us to the CL. If he can, then in April he'll be ready instead of melting again.
All sounds great until you look at the form of other players and see how players that have performed way worse than Laporte over a much longer period still play week in week out. Meanwhile Foden hasn’t started 6 games on he trot in the prem which is disgraceful. If he’s gonna be strong bla bla bla then do it but don’t be a massive walking contradiction.

Foden has started 50% of our games this season and played in all but 3 of them.

The players Pep started ahead of him have won our last 2 games for us.

Perhaps it is a bit hyperbolic but did you watch him v Spurs? He had no idea what he should be doing or where he should be.
Yet more hyperbole. He made a stupid mistake in the first ten minutes against the best strike partnership possibly in Europe at the moment. That means being dropped for four games running including a game which Eric Garcia started?

I am just guessing here but given he's been awful recently, considering his earlier form, I wouldn't be surprised if words have been exchanged between him and Pep. He may well have said more than he should and be paying the price.

Spill the beans...

It was Burnley and Fulham, he could have played me and you and we’d have won.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but not starting Foden for 6 PL games is just Pep doing daft Pep things.

But he has been starting every CL game and will this week.

Looking at a couple of threads on here tonight it’s as though people are going out of their way to find issues that don’t exist.
Stones has earnt his place recently. That’s all there is to it.

Well said. Competition is very healthy.

No it's Pep being a good manager and you desperately finding things to fucking whine about.

Foden is on track to start 32 games and make 53 appearances. Seriously what the fuck are you complaining about.

Which players

Fucking hell man take your pick. Mahrez, Sterling, Silva, Rodri even KDB until this past week. If we’re talking Laporte’s recent form being abysmal because he made an error against Spurs then fuck knows how you describe what kind of form half our team have been in since September and even before that.

What? So he’s gonna start every one of our remaining league games?

When you a team that wins cups you can’t make cocks up in big games Laporte is a fantastic player but he needs to get his head back on it.
So from cocking up in a cup game v Spurs a couple of years ago he gets dropped for four games v Burnley and Fulham level of opponents in 20/21?
