Another clean sheet but we didn’t have to do that much defending. So slow through the midfield.
The front three that started are not good enough.
No way we’re winning the league this season.

This pervades every aspect of our club at every level and every game. We only need to up the pace by a small percentage, develop a mindset that the opposition goals are in front of you not at the side or behind you, and we are back to a bit of swashbuckling - the hallmark of Mancini and Pellers. Possession at all costs just puts no pressure on teams, gives them all the time in the world to organise and re-organise and come up against a team of athletes or cross country runners and yer get very little out of a game.

People on here are mental. It was a throwback big game.. a cagey one that no one wanted to lose. Whilst Mahrez and to a lesser extent Sterling were frustrating.. so to where their creative and forwards players... why?

because 98% of the game both teams were set in their shape.. the odd occasion a mistake or positive play was rewarded it didn’t result in a goal.

It was almost impossible to score for both teams.. there was no space as both managers were reluctant for their sides to be punished by mistakes.

Rodri wasn't the problem. Sterling and Mahrez both being useless will get you closer to the truth along with Pep not getting them fired up. Ferny and McT were the only 2 players who knew it was a Derby.

None of this successfully glosses over Rodri not being good enough.

Thought we played not to lose. Had a couple of decent chances and of course missed them. Thought Sterling and Mahrez were really poor. Sterling's form seems to have fallen off a cliff. Foden must be gutted he didn't get on. He has enough emotional desire to give a shit in a derby and would have run himself into the ground against them. Another clean sheet but we are toothless upfront.

Personally I think that just shows how shit football is without fans. Fans make the match, gets the players going. With fans there is no way the players from both sides would be talking to each other and laughing.
It just shows yes it's a league but more like a pre season league.
I cant get excited about this season, having just watched that without the xbox sound on it was awful.

Didn’t feel like a derby at all , I’ve proper had enough of the no fans thing now .
Feels like there’s no tension in the game .
Just awful .
Shittest derby I’ve watched .
As far as the game we look toothless a bit going forward, solid at the back.

There are more positives if you look closely:

• Did you see that brilliant run of Mahrez (albeit only for the warmth of the dressing room)?
• Sterling was picked on merit again for devastating recent form plus a history of heroic derby efforts
• Foden was saved from burnout for another 90 minutes.

I think Mahrez also managed to keep his hands warm, so he achieved his objective.

We need a left winger on the left or Jesus there with Aguero up top.

Gundogan or Ferna in the middle. With Foden Jesus Kdb Sterling Aguero making up the rest.

We just aren't as good with rodri and haven't been settled with him there. We look too passive and not quick enough to win second balls. Perhaps his inclusion has been because of our unsettled centre backs post kompany era. Now we have a settled defence I don't think there is a reliance for him to be selected?
