United (A) Post Match Thread

Jesus is great when he works hard and presses from the front. For some reason he and the others are doing that and they look average. Compare this team with peak Tevez /Aguero and Dzeko

spot on matey his work rate is below par ?
also the press from the whole team is shocking at the moment and how many times we let united out with the ball
for the first time in a long time city played for a draw ? pep can not hide from the fact he sent out his team to not give anything any ? if its to protect the team in a long hard season and with a game in midweek then judge him at the end of the season

Said the same why did he suddenly give it Wisper in his ear? If it was VAR then that is wrong but it could have been the Lino to give benefit of the doubt
Var is not for mere mortals like us.
Perhaps the var told him to give a pen then the offside emerged with the lines shown for public view.?

St Marcus will be at Christie's hospital in the morning giving out presents to poorly kids so everyone forgets he's a diving little shit.
what he does on the field should not be compared with the good he does off it. Everybody is diving now with var, that's why its strange Pep has gone all defensive when attacking could pay penalty dividends. It wouldn't matter anyway we tend to miss penalties, especially the important ones.

Long way to go in the league let’s see where we are after 20 games played.
Without changes to approach and in my mind personnel not much better off I fear. Hope I’m wrong but we’ve been in decline for a while. I think the players have quit a bit and that’s a bad sign

Im not sure it’s that. He just isn’t at the very top level for me. He is a good player but nothing more. We should have signed a striker especially knowing that Aguero was injured at the start of the season and probably has one more season unless we know we are definitely getting Messi.

Jesus would be better on the left for me and filling in up front against the likes of West Brom and Brighton when the striker needs a rest. He is never a 38 game a season Centre forward in my opinion.
Based on we have few options on the left, Sterlings poor form and Jesus has played there for the National side it’s a mystery he has not been given a run there. Particularly, as compared to our other wide players, he is a more natural finisher.

Biased yonner cûnt Neville saying "maybe offside, maybe" about the pen was pathetic. No fucking maybe about it you tool.

Get sick of listening to this cûnt every derby.

Rashford's a diving prick too.
Had muted the sound long before then. Were they really saying it wasn’t offside but it was a definite penalty. Surely VAR would have told the ref to have a rethink as no snipers were in the vicinity. Not even sure Walker made contact as it appeared as if both players genuinely kicked each other but one carried on playing whilst the other looked at the ref, jumped in the air, twisted around a fell over. Even if not offside it should never have been awarded

VAR did us a favour by rightly spotting the offside in the build up
But was it called in to examine that?
My initial concern was that St Marcus so loved by some is just a common or garden rag cheat with his scream and rolling on the ground.

It could have killed him as another rag cheat once said

For a player at his level his conversion rate is very poor and there lies the problem. It’s not that he doesn’t put the effort in or score goals, it’s the numbers of goals scored compared to the chances he is given.
I personally like the lad and think he brings something to the squad, but if he is our main striker then we have a serious problem.

It's weird but if 90% of this team was sold, I wouldn't be upset. There's just so many players in this club that just invoke apathy.
90% is way too much but there does seem to be a lack of unity and we’re missing a leader. I think having Sergio, Laporte and Phil playing regularly will help bring the team together. Personally I think we haven’t looked the same since Merlin left. I also think getting Vinny back in some kind’ve coaching role might be a big help in building a winning mentality again.

pep thinks all forwards are strikers and having watched city score over 100 goals a season who can say he is wrong

for me a striker is a key player in england its the only league that you can not rest for a second because a top striker will kill you with a run or a smashing header that only strikers make. aguero is the living proof what a top striker is to a team. turn off and aguero will kill you because he is thinking all the time he smalls danger

if you look at the squad we only have one striker in aguero the rest are forwards or wingers ? so maybe pep needs to get a couple of strikers in if he's going to play like today

I just watched the Mahrez chance and the De Bruyne follow up, which was arguably our best chance. Pitiful is the word on both attempts and until we snap out of this lethargic half arsed play we aren't winning anything this season, least of all the title

I’m just surprised Foden is still here after being stood around watching Mahrez and Sterling perform like that and not being able to be played.

Ratboy is a failure as a manager, so not sure if he has the credibility to slag us off the way he is.
We were poor, lacked finishing lethality yet again. We made chances, but as usual, spunked them away.
As for Mahrez, he should not be allowed to put on a shirt again for us unless it’s against a bottom 3 team. Him and Raz were a disgrace.
If Foden had not made the grade he would probably be on here making the same sort of comments as his fellow blues do on here.

the scary thing was the ref did not give it right away ? he thought about it and then listen to somebody in his ear
for a moment i thought VAR would have forgot about the offside and give the pen it looked that way. even the VAR team did its best to stretch the replay of the player passing the ball hoping it could give the pen but even VAR could not make it look onside that god

The debruyne interview after the Spurs defeat has set the tone and allowed excuses and a lower expectation.
