I’m guessing even with a deal this thread will just rumble on
I think some people’s lives are consumed by brexit

That was forecast quite a longtime ago mate, I only dipped back in recently because the clock was nearing midnight. A think a few weeks of discussing the details(it will be a shit show but let’s see) then ducking out for a while will be the sane thing to do.

I will be grateful if you remind me of this:-)

Fish appears to be the EU offer of 25% over six years, but still a lot of haggling going on and the deal is coming in at 2,000 pages so the devil will be in the detail...much like the WA.

Ha Ha.
Setting your own very low bar and comfort blanket of doing better than Mavis 's deal so that you're not ultimately disappointed.
Haven't seen the details yet mate

But - I think, as a leaver seeking a genuine Brexit, I will be very pleased

You?

So Boris won’t know whats in it until a good few months after signing it.

Yep, we’re going to ram it through in a couple of days with no one reading the thing. We will sign up to the biggest change in our trading relationship with Europe in 40 years with no one having a clue what it involves.

The big sell is on...

Entirely predictable.
If it’s true we’ve backed down on our fish demands and agreed to what the EU offered several weeks ago, and we’ve agreed to pay a price in terms of targeted tariffs should regulatory divergences occur, we’re basically back to where we were at the beginning of November when the markets started their most recent rally. IMO the last two months has been about optics and avoiding scrutiny, and the EU have barely moved for months. I suspect their threat of No Deal and the political will to see it through focussed a few minds on our side.
I think any Brexiteers expecting significant regulatory divergence are going to be disappointed.

Len - come on now - you know better then this

I have decided to (at least try and) let it go..........

But you should really stop with the false memories - it is the Remainers that are setting 'convenient low bars'

Truth is - there was not a single Remainer on this forum between 2016-2018 that was suggesting anything like the outcome we are about to confirm.

There was only utter derision for the views of posters that hoped for a genuine Brexit outcome

Yet - here we are

So, we Leavers can afford to just be content and take a low profile

This deal (unless I am going to be very surprised and disappointed) will indeed reflect a genuine Brexit and be far beyond my expectations of 2017-2019

Yeah, we could have done this deal two months ago, but then it would have been two months of scrutiny and accusations of giving in too easily and not holding out for greater concessions. It would be ‘the EU will crack if we hold firm, have the will to walk away etc etc’, which we be never did, walk away that is.

Now, everyone is just relieved it’s done, it’s Christmas Eve, and no one will care until January after it has passed the Commons.

I’d say the only people truly disappointed on here are the remainers.
My god you lot are like a broken record.
