Never.

Is it over now ?

No. Just the end of Season 4. Season 5 will open 6 months hence with UK negotiators in Brussels wearily opening their folders to try and get an exemption for the movement of rose hip seeds in non standard horticultural trays across Europe.

It will be one of 126 similar meetings taking place on a bright Brussels morning...

And so the quest for bad news begins... Like wurzel gummidge pleasuring himself in the middle of a field.

I'm not sure what the arguments are about to be honest. From my perspective, does what we know about this deal make it a better outcome than no deal?
Yes.
Do we know enough yet to decide if the deal is in favour of one party or the other or as I hope, a balanced deal that leaves both sides feeling positive about the outcome?
No.

Should we not wait for details before we kick lumps out of each other?
Sounds sensible to me

Well thank fuck for that.

As people have said before, even if it's not the best deal in the world, it makes zero sense to completely fuck over the economy because there are a few things you don't like about it.

Pretty much. Deal done for today, concentrate on recovering from Covid, work out what the world looks like properly tomorrow (and by tomorrow I mean, some indeterminate amount of time. We'll be 'reopening' these negotiations forever).

He can’t do anything else.
His party has no chance for a decade if he doesn’t vote it through.
Millions of his voters voted out and they have been ignored for years by labour
Time to try and win them back now
He’s got a damn sight more chance than his predecessor.

You're right, we're getting ahead of ourselves, blondie may appear on telly
telling us he's decided to remain, so let's wait and see.
Not had chance to see anything about the deal yet - but see i am suddenly 20 pages behind - so some details must have broken

I look forward to a catch up during the night

Actually I have seen one headline which is Alastair Campbell sounding - well usual - so could possibly be good news

Kept his promise ffs

He has no option or he would look a duplicitous **** in the eyes of every voter labour lost last year.

Plus it is gonna paas through parliament without his blessing so why look a fool

Because, like most politics nowadays, it’s all about narrative. Labour have to get away from looking like they’re blocking brexit. The best thing for them to do is, as Starmers doing, get it implemented and then hold the tories to account for it.

We’ve been dealing in the politics of potential consequences for the past four years, now Labour can at least oppose and argue against actual consequences.

That is whay I am saying

A year ago he pushed for labour to be 50/50 on brexitdeal/possible remain and when the lqbour leadership relenred it bit them on th arse amongst other things.

Only a fool would now still push remain or block any deal

Ah, in which case I agree :) Apologies, hadn’t read back on the thread.
