The problem with fools like Darke is he is too lazy to do his job properly. Why mention that Foden "doesn't start Premier League games" when he has started plenty of CL games and we have to rotate the squad? There is no balance and context.

same breath slagging us off for Foden not starting PL games they bang on about how clinical and impressive Torres has been with his CL appearances. It's just nonsense.

I thought he commentary was decent last night, yes people have pointed out him mentioning the price of players, which arguably is a fair point, but I don't get the insults and its unlikely to endear the club to him for future commentaries.

You are, of course, correct about the Twitter storm but there is a bigger picture here. Ian Darke is not the only commentator who is incapable of covering City in an impartial way. The constant sniping (and that's what it is) has gone on for years. There are so many people in key positions who simply can't hide their dislike of our club. I think City fans are entitled to defend the club and I think our lobbying is slowly improving things and has helped people like Nedum, Micah, and Trevor Sinclair get more airtime. All I want to see is fair, balanced, and honest critical coverage of City.

I think to me there us a difference between commenting on transfer fees, as people on here and his twitter feed seem bothered about, and getting personal.

As highlighted earlier, a couple if the fees were mentioned in the context of what a bargain it was, rather than used as a slight.

You believe that the likes of United and Liverpool’s transfer fees are referred to as frequently, and in the same terms, as ours?

mentioning the fees was there purely to get a reaction out of the rags and dippers watching. You can say someone is value for money without needing to mention the fee. Going through the squad saying "£60m here, £50m there" is a clear tactic for a specific end game.

Haven't heard the commentators comment on Rodrigo's fee in the Leeds game today.

If you look back through my posts, I accept that is a valid point. With regards Darke only the Ederson and Dias ones spring to mind and I think they were referred to in ‘positive terms’ on this occasion.

Anyone else notice how we are starting to be reported more in the media? We are the most successful English club over the past 10 years and can no longer be ignored.

Also there is a growing trend to finally refer to us as Manchester City rather than just Man City.

The most egregious omissions are Pogba and Maguire.
