Everton (A) | Game Postponed

What I can’t understand is if the PL want to keep prostituting the players for their produce, why haven’t they paid for all players and key club staff to be privately inoculated, and to make it not seem unfair contributed £10m to the NHS? Seems utterly ridiculous for them to move about the country without the vaccine.

On a side note, I am so pleased our players weren’t exposed to 2000 scousers yesterday, most of them spit while they talk, except in Jamie Carraghers case who sometimes talks while he spits

I don't find it at all objectionable that Everton should want to know why the PL took the decision to agree to City's request for a postponement. They are surely entitled to know why the game was cancelled and what the implications are and the fear that Richarlisson and Rodriguez may be fit for the rescheduled match is unworthy of any blue when we have no idea of how many of our players are affected. As both clubs point out, public health is the one and only concern. An associated concern is what our government is doing to protect public and football at this time.

Footballers appear to have been infected far more, proportionately, than other groups. This is not because they are more frivolous and irresponsible than other groups, though there are individuals who are, but because they play a contact sport, they travel regularly and because the system of testing is not fit for purpose. We have seen the problems caused for Newcastle by a couple of false negatives.

A great fanfare greeted the placing of London and the south east in tier 4. London was such a dangerous place that travel in and out was forbidden and Christmas cancelled! Yet City had to travel to north London to play football on the Tuesday before Christmas! Then we find one of the Arsenal lads has tested positive and there is an outbreak at our hotel...followed by an outbreak of as yet unknown numbers at our club.

Our government defends itself by pleading an unpredictable situation which develops too quickly to be handled. Unfortunately the medics describe a situation which is actually very predictable. They stop short of saying the government has mishandled it at every stage, but it has. Johnson couldn't be bothered attending a single Cobra meeting last January or February, testing kits were not ordered when they were needed so we lost control, millions were wasted in what look like corrupt deals which bought PPE which was never delivered or could not be used, lockdowns were introduced 3 weeks too late to be fully beneficial, care homes were abandoned completely to the virus which was allowed to run wild and so on...until you could enjoy Christmas as long as you didn't blame Boris and his men if/when you, your family and anyone else was ill. And football and the health of footballers was surrendered to the needs of keeping public morale up. Thanks Boris and a happy new years.

Another one who thinks Boris, or anyone, can control a pandemic when ignorant people flout the rules! the reality is IF people had stuck to the lockdown rules we wouldnt be in this mess! its not our governments fault, or the italian governments fault, or the american governments fault! its selfish people who don't give a shit about others.

Because an agreement was made that no private individuals/companies can buy the vaccine. Only health care providers are allowed to buy it at this time.

Because the vaccine is not available privately.

Easy to forget that Boris’s key adviser smashed an enormous hole in the rules and Boris backed him to the hilt. Apparently.

Part truth, part claptrap. As I said to another poster, go back to March up until where we are now, and look at the groups of people who are or have been exempt from restrictions. Literally millions of people, all interacting with each other. The rules were as wrong as the people flouting them.
