I can't see how we could afford him and an elite striker in one window

hence why we should be doing the striker in January imo. It’s going to be big money no doubt but we desperately need one and with a guaranteed relaxation of the FFP rules for this season then we shoild
Splash this month.

Pogba's dive won the game, Grealish's numerous dives just won free kicks.....he has a lot to learn
So do you , I could win a penalty at the swamp if I had a red shirt on & I hate the cnts , grealish was was fouled three or four times by mctomany who never got booked scythed down by matich who also got away with it . Bent as Fck

Oh, i agree on the bent as fcuk stuff with United, i just don't see how Grealish would benefit us, we don't get the calls teams in red get so that wipes out half his usefulness

Who’s available, and why would we go fo a plan b or c if plan A is available next summer. Then what if FFP is relaxed next summer not this month, as we will already be making big losses we would need certainty on what the FFP rules are going to be.

say city wanted haaland and offered braaf and say €90m as well Dortmund might take it?

Greasy Jack could be the greatest guy at falling over the world has ever seen, the minute he had a city shirt on he becomes the worst guy at falling over, its not the player its the colour of the shirt that determines if you are a great faller over !

They might, but very much doubt it but as is more likely they say come back in the summer, then we wait. That might is also assuming we can afford €90 mill in this seasons budget we spent a fair bit in the summer window.
Next seeson with fans is more important than this anyway.
Would you then move on to plan B in January assuming Haaland is plan A, and assuming we think we can get him in the summer if Dortmund say no, after all they can’t be that desperate for money or they wouldn’t have held out for Sancho in the summer.

they aren’t desperate for cash no but after this summer haaland has that release clause that comes in for €75m? Sometimes you need to use your financial power over others and be ahead of the game? Maybe we could also offer to let Dortmund off the 20% sancho re sale clause as well? Waiting until the summer will most certainly bring more clubs to the table so maybe we should try and do it now?

Clause activates summer 2022.
2021
Haaland signed a contract to 2024 but reports quickly insisted it contains a release clause that will become active in 2021. According to SportBILD, Haaland's agent Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge entered talks with BVB asking for a €50m clause.28 Jan 2020

Erling Haaland's bargain Borussia Dortmund release clause ...

Why offer more than the supposed buy out clause?

because the clause isn’t active yet and it also allows more teams to come to the table? We have the advantage of Dortmund wanting braaf and the sancho sell on clause we can possibly use to swing a deal our way?

Activates in 2021, when in 2021? and that's if the clause is actually real, of course, Dortmund has denied it in the past.

But let's say it is real, us offering them more and players they want means nothing as if he does have a clause then anybody can trigger it and ultimately it will be the players choice who he signs for.

Best we leave it there as this is the Grealish thread lol

Have watched him play recently, and whislt no Silva, he would bring bite and skill we seem to be lacking.Thought Bernardo could do it but he seems off form..dont particularly like Grealish as a person, with his silly hair and socks but could be good for us..Nedum saying we are his preference over Utd..Grealish and Haaland would be a massive duo for us..dont think he would have as negative an impact as Rodney Marsh (or even Stan Bowles) !!!..I do think we should be patient with Rodri..must be hard to be an understudy to Fernandinho..some players need time and to build confidence ala Cancelo and Stones..Covid has given them a good run of games..some players seem to cope with rotation better than others..some just need a long run. Dias is the new Vincent, feel sorry for Laporte.

If the scum can get rid of a few of there shite they will go for him.

For me though any team getting loans from banks to pay wages or keep there football clubs going should be banned from buying anyone.

I've been say this for years, if a club is in debt they shouldn't be allowed to sign players until they've cleared their debts

Exactly. FFP is such a contrived rule and so obviously designed solely to restrict us.

How is it considered as financially ‘fair’ for a club saddled with about £400m of debt to spend with almost impunity, yet a debt-free club with an owner worth over £20bn is restricted from spending?

And why have we not paid the best lawyers available to ask this very question?

Because it's organic debt obviously.
