For me he makes the signing of Roque Santa Cruz look like a great signing.
A huge disappointment for me.

A lot of people seem to be magnifying what punishments Mendy should receive by how they rate him as a player. There were not so many saying ‘get rid’ when Phil broke the rules - in a far more serious manner.
Young men will be young men and they will make mistakes. Punishments should be relative and a young man, who is away from his family, having three friends around on NYE is hardly a reason to destroy a career.
Anyway, he seems to be making a good job of wasting his talents even without this latest breach.

Plus several girls seen leaving at dawn, keep up

also the team are in the middle of a covid crisis and are all told to be ultra careful and not break the rules , this is a cunts trick and shows he doesnt give a fuck about his team mates or pep

Gave Phil the benefits of the doubt after one indiscretion. Mendy is a habitual fuckwit and never seems to learn his lesson

This is the most known phenomenon in football. Fans are always going to be more lenient towards players that perform well and less so to those that don't. Mendy hasn't peformed in years, been a total dud of a signing and now you're compounding that with poor off field baggage.

Agreed. His transgression isn't the worst when you are read the facts. Not defending him per se but his wasn't the worst. Hope the chef wore a mask though.

What he did was no worse than what Walker or Foden did

Bit different than Walker who, while he still did something seriously bad, did it in the middle of the first lockdown.

Mendy knew he was putting other people at the club in danger and potentially having an impact on the health of them and their families and even our fixtures. If he caught it from one of the people who came over he could've given it to half the squad before it was caught.
