I did kinder scout of Xmas eve. Have had a black toe since!
I live in Ashton but Uppermill is just about a 10 minutes drive away, as you say it's a lovely place to visit, plenty of walks around there, Delph, Dob Cross and Greenfield. Some great pubs and restaurants when we reopen, well worth a visit for anyone who's not been there before.

Same as, will be moving to the Saddleworth area when we retire (if we get there), Greenfield is great, nice walk to Uppermill and train station on the doorstep, I just love the vibe of that area. We currently live on the Ashton/Mossley border, only 10 minutes drive, love it.We were out today in the snow talking about our visit up there last year. We would have loved to see it covered in snow. Missus wants to live in Greenfield. Has done since she was a kid.
Couple of short walks to start the year off. 6 milers yesterday and today. Local farm, tracks and a country park.

Went to the Peak District this morning for a walk, pretty busy but people were keeping well away from each other to be fair... bloody cold up top of Mam Tor with that wind!!

I am as well. We should task Inchy with finding the walks and he can decide on the difficulty after our first one round Conniston as he'll then know what we're capable of
great pic, and good views up there.Went to the Peak District this morning for a walk, pretty busy but people were keeping well away from each other to be fair... bloody cold up top of Mam Tor with that wind!!

Yes was surprised how little there was up there tbh.great pic, and good views up there.
bit lacking in snow though, we’ve had a lot more than that is sunny Rossendale.
Where’s that?Wanted the orange as I’ll be found if I get lost up there!! Blue one I’ve got doesn’t stand out enough, my rain jackets blue though.....View attachment 7544
Beautiful place that. I remember once having to climb past 2 Uni students who were having an absolute mare up there. I half expected to have to rope them up and lead them off the ridge, but they thankfully refused any help.Wanted the orange as I’ll be found if I get lost up there!! Thought it looked familia. We went three years back.Snowdon in august... was an unbelievably beautiful day in the end. View attachment 7546Busy as fuck though.... fair weather walkers....
We went up the month earlier with a couple who’d never been up before, she probably won’t ever again, wind rain, sleet and hail all in July!! She was traumatised by the end and we were all pissed wet through. Go a month later with another group to stunning weather. Always be prepared for ALL eventualities.Thought it looked familia. We went three years back.
Started off sunny but by the time we got a mile from the top the rain started and boy did it rain.
Both the train and the cafe were closed, cheers ya Welsh miserablsits, only wanted a hot chocolate before setting down.
Not 100% sure of the route down as visibility was incredibly poor so followed a couple who knew where they were going.
Never been as wet when waiting for the bus to take us back to the campsite.
Also easiest route down and you just can’t get lost is Llanberis path. Dear simple compared to the other routes.Thought it looked familia. We went three years back.
