England hospital deaths 376 with just 30 from the NW.

This is Sunday data remember so usually the lowest number of the week. Even so it is double the last 'normal' number the week before Christmas,

NW usually under reports at weekend so this kind of low number is not necessarily as hopeful as it looks.

If these Tiers are scientific method then science is in big trouble.

We do not have time to run experiments with a pandemic.

It is very obvious for multiple reasons that lockdown is the one thing that works best.

Scientific method - as in delay after delay until you hit on a solution that works - KILLS people.

But happily plenty of scientists are well aware of this and have been saying so too.

And you do not need to be a scientist to understand why the tiers have failed. We have been identifying them in here for months.

Don't have time to do scientific method?
If you don't know what the effect of something is how can you measure it or indeed remove it?
More haste less speed springs to mind.
That said we probably need total lockdown pretty quickly till all care home residents, health/care staff and school staff are vaccinated.

He might not be far off going by the current figures. 50-odd thousand positive cases per day accounts for about 400,000 per week - probably not too much of a stretch to think another 400,000 are getting it but haven't been tested for it

She says Scotland about 3/ 4 weeks behind London, so doing it now should prevent us reaching anywhere near London levels. Thing is though she has said the last weeks cases have yet to feed through to hospitals. So if Boris doesn't act now then London hospitals are going to be in real troubles and more deaths than necessary.
Can’t believe he is still dithering.
She also estimated by end of January about 900,000 in Scotland will have had the first dose of vaccine, so that would be about 20%. assume equates to about 10 million in the UK So hopefully February should see a lifting of lockdowns.

She comes across far batter than any politician in Westminster. Unfortunately I don't think they've dealt with it any better than the rest of the UK in terms of managing to protect the vulnerable population.

Found out from two drs on this morning that the vaccine gives you 100% protection against being hospitalised and death , where are the media in this
